The scam trades megathread. - Games

Three trades where I got more than I deserved. I was playing in a server, and an admin wanted my Holy Mackerel, he gave me a Refined metal for it. Today, I wanted to get another mackerel, and some guy wanted my spy knife so bad he offered me the Mackerel, Mad Milk, and two other Polycount weapons. He also offered me his Parasite hat. Eventually I tricked him into giving me the Fish and the materials I needed to craft another spy knife. So I got a fish and a knife, and he lost his fish. Then someone wanted my Vitasaw so bad he gave me a Brigader Helm for it. The only one who didn't know how bad the trade was is the second guy, and he's the only one I actually tried to trick.

I got a Pickel Habel for my shitty earbuds.

Earbuds are more rare than Pickel Haube. Bad deal. Very bad deal!

Basically, traded Alien Swarm hat for football helmet and sniper hatless. Pretty good, imo

got vita saw for a mann co crate got a second vitasaw for my spare fish got a refined for vita saw got rubber glove for black box

some guy thought i put a name tag up, he gave me a crate, a razorback and kritzkrieg. 5 minutes later, "Hey... wheres my nametag? You ripped me OFF"

I love trading. You just have to stand firm, and everything will work out. A guy wanted Vintage items. I told him I only did it for a hat, preferably Sniper. He said he didn't have any, but he would try. Five minutes later he contacted me, and I traded four Vintage dupes for a Vintage Bloke's Bucket hat. A few rounds later, same server. Someone is stocking up crates, and I had two left (one random drop, one gotten for a regular Dead Ringer). He gave me weapons first, but I said I wanted hats, or no deal. I could choose between the Alien Parasite (lolno), the Medic Mirror (have it already), Demoman TOphat (offered one crate) or the [i]Old Guadalajara, painted![/i] Got it for two crates. I fricking love this. [edit]Anyone know the exact color? I think it's Distinctive lack of Hue, which inverts the hue, but I don't know. Can you see the exact paint anywhere? Man, you guys are lucky. I've been trying to get someone gullible enough to trade me a hat for my two crates all day, but so far I haven't gotten anyone to go for it. I couldn't even get a deal outta the guys down at the saings servers. I guess I should just keep at it.

Don't worry, it can take a long time. And generally, all servers have idiots in them. You just need luck, a lot of patience, and keep your foot down. You should go for one hat per crate, no less. Unless it's a new one, then two crates are fine. Just make sure you offer as low as possible, and ask for as much as possible, and then slowly work your way down to the middle (but it's better to give low and get high if you can manage, anyway). Just keep an eye on the chat, and barge in on people asking for trades. Then convince them what you offer is a really good deal. In-trade is best, so other people can't interfere and tell him you're bullshitting.

It's no sombrero, but still a good trade when you consider that the crate only cost me one reclaimed metal.

Started with two Reclaimed Metal, and one Blackbox that dropped on the day of the update. Traded the Blackbox for a Tippler's Tricorne, which I then traded for a Tyrannus. Traded the Tyrannus for a Respectless Rubber Glove. Traded both Reclaimed Metal for two crates, traded crates for a Camera Beard and a Refined Metal. Traded Camera Beard+Refined Metal for a Tough Guy's Toque Traded Tough Guy's Toque (Already had Officer's Ushanka) and Rubber glove for an Old Guadalajara End result: One Old Guadalajara for Two Reclaimed Metal and a Blackbox

Not my scam, but I just saw the best way to get multiple hats for your Alien Swarm hat. The admin of the server I was on wanted to get rid of his (I think he was an admin, because otherwise he couldn't pull this off). So he told people his Parasite gave him 3x health and instant kills, and then actually gave himself those cheats while wearing the hat. Claimed he got it from a crate as the "exceedingly rare item" that can be in it. He got a Grenadier's Softcap, Ze Goggles and a Pugilist Protector for it.

Started out will Bill's Hat + Alien Swarm Traded Bill's for 3. Traded Alien Swarm for Bill's. Traded Bill's for 3.
