One was offering the steak for my WS. The other was offering a reclaimed.
I said, I was mainly looking for steak any way, to the 2nd guy. He threw in a v. weapon, I said "no, sorry". He then threw in a ellis cap. I asked the first guy if he would take a reclaimed for his steak, and he said yea.
So I did the 2nd guys trade, got ellis cap and v. weapon, then did the first guys trade.

I got scammed, and I've seen this tactic done a lot. People go from server to server "buying vintage hats for 2 refined and nv for 1 refined". They then repeat there circle of servers but selling the vintage hats for 3 refined and crafted the non-vintage hats until they get something good. So here's a story
I have metal, lots of metal, serching for vv. tyrolean.
Guy says he has lots of hats, send trade
3 refined> vintage glengarry bonnet
try to sell glengarry bonnet for 3 refined after realizing I didn't want it as I thought I did.
vintage glengarry bonnet>vintage Sola Poi(or whatever)
Sola poi> 2 refined.
Crafted 3 refined thinking "hell with it" got madam dixie.
I traded my Mad Milk for an Exquisite Rack.
I traded my spare Wrangler for a Brass Beast and a Degreaser, and seconds after that traded the Brass Beast for a Tyrant's Helm.
I wouldn't call the last one really a scam, though. The guy offered it himself (I never mentioned the word 'hat' at all, unless you count an offhand joke) and it seemed he knew it's value. He just didn't care for hats, and I can respect that.
