You just have to look. At one point I had 26 crates and sold two for a scrap each, he didn't care about series.

Hes right, i went into a 24/7 mario kart server for 5 minutes and already got a madam dixie for an eternal reward + bear hands, and then 8 vintage weapons for a crate :buddy:

Then traded that for handle + nv. bald scout.
Then a color 216-190-216 for a vintage camera beard painted color 216-190-216.
Then traded another 216-190-216 for pink as hel.
Then devintagized the beard into 1 refined + 1 nv. camera beard.
Then crafted the beard with the bald scout to get a milkman.

Once you get to the unusual tier level of trading stay the fuck away from the unusual hat club servers, everyone knows the prices on stuff and you wont get a deal ever.
I think the only scam trade I have ever made is their reclaimed for my huntsman.
It's just that I don't know where to look, or what I should be looking for.

Because some people are so obvious it's hilarious to watch them. NO ONE has keys on mario_kart servers, the max heads aren't there anymore, and 99% of the people there don't have ANYTHING to offer. Go to trading servers and just trade up

Waste 3 hours on nothing just because the other guy demands more than you have or more then should be.... or the guy is cheap.
I prefer normal servers....

The reason many non-traders detest trading is because people join their games and spam the chat with "WANT BUNNY HAT! TRADING ***TWO*** HATS FOR IT" and don't fight whatsoever. And to someone who just picks up TF2 for a game after a long day, the last thing he wants is 4 people sitting in spawn looking through the whole server's backpacks for promo hats

It's all about foreign trade servers. Although I have yet to try a 24/7 2fort, 24/7 mariokart, and prophunt servers.

If you have a specific hat you're looking to trade, go to a trading server and just wait.. If you're lucky, you'll find someone who says "Looking for <your hat>". Send them an offer as fast as you can. 9/10 times they're offering some good stuff for the hat they want.
That's where I've gotten good trades.
One guy said he wanted a Brigade Helm. I send him an offer. He gives me a Merrywheather.
One guy said he wanted Ze Goggles. I send him an offer. He gives me a v. Hotrod.
Lot of it is luck. Unless you're trading something yourself, I don't suggest trading servers too much.
Traders tip: If you want to be offered good stuff for your good stuff (vintage hats, unusuals, promos, etc.), then go on a trading server.
If you wanna offer little things for big things, go to casual/beginner servers (crate hats that just look cool, new or highly wanted weapons, things people have never seen before, etc.)
And if you wanna go to servers like that, asking for promo items is the best way to do it, since they can be obtained without actually trading for anything and be gotten automatically.
