I suppose to make it easier, we could all conjure up a few of our own tips and use those.

Definetly would be easier...except I have no tips. I've tired orange and mariokart servers alike. No ones willing to cough up.
I've got a few.
[list][*]1.Always keep a good supply of seemingly useless items (I.E. ellis caps) to deter people who randomly trade you, or in some cases, a good deal.
Example: Someone trades me randomly asking for a hat, offering (hat I can't remember, was better than a cap), so I put down the ellis cap and they accept.
[*]2. When someone asks for an offer, always start with your lower valued items/hats. Chances are you can detect an experienced trader by their response.
[*]3*. If something seems too good to be true (I.E. someone asking for a menial value item while offering a much higher valued item) it probably is, and they only seek to scam/troll you.
[*]4. If someone asks for a new weapon (Loch-n-Load, Crusader's Crossbow, Amputator) chances are they'll overpay easily for it, in fact this can even apply to the old set of weapons (Polycount).
Example: Someone in a server says "looking for shortstop", so I trade immediately, and throw down the shortstop. He asks me what I want, and I say "dunno", leaving him to offer me a refined metal, asking "is that ok?". Smooth sailing from there.[/list]
*This is one of the most important things to take into consideration, many people fall victim to this, even myself at one point.
Some pro tips from the pro ass trader me.
1. Never sell your stuff for less then you payed unless it was a stupid deal.
2. If someone wants a specific hat then they will usually give alot for it.
3. Consult with the server and friends before a trade so you never do stupid deals.
4. If someone unboxes a unusual lowball them all day.
5. When a new item comes out its worth 5x more then normal, slowly decreases until it averages out.
