I think he knew how much the beard was worth, so it's not really a scam, more like a "I just ran into a nice guy today..."

Either way, I'm happy.

I saw someone asking for a shortstop, offered a purple paint for it.
In the end this was the result:
Shortstop for Deep Commitment to Purple + Demo's fro (which the user had as a drop a few minutes before)
