Just my comments about the latest item drop change:
The original purpose for idling was to acquire hats without having to play the game for hours and hours on end. Now that Valve has supposedly fixed this fatal flaw, idlers should be rejoicing! Now, one does not have to "play" the game for an inordinate amount of time to acquire a hat! But, instead, idlers are whining about having to play the game. See what happened? People got addicted to idling. They no longer understand the reason behind idling, besides just to acquire items. If one doesn't want to play TF2, why would one want to get in-game accessories for their characters?
Addiction hurts. :eng101:
Indeed it does.
I'm idling for hats, still I don't know why.
I'm just feeling so bound to them.. Like they're my soul or something, and I have to collect everyone.
God damnit I'm getting idling withdrawals.
Oh god I think I need some source tools right now.
I hate this new cap thing, why can't they just leave it be?

New system w/ NO CAP - EVEN MORE IDLEING, IDLERS GET REWARDED A TON MORE.
As much as I'd love that even I know taht would really be bad.
They're hats.
I'm new at this of idling, I started 1 or 2 months ago but I have never got a hat.
Anyway I've stopped and seriously today I got 2 weapons so today I crafted 1 metal and other thing. The new system is awesome because you don't have to play 4 hours for a fucking hat.

Yes,you'll actually have to play for 8 weeks for a hat.
I'm still idling. It's just going to be sad when I hit the max cap on items.

I like it, because then I just have to idle 1-2 hours a day, because right now I'm to busy with my studies
Addicted to idling = addicted to doing nothing?
I idled for items, actually. Getting a hat was just a bonus.
I've been idling for a while. The new system made me have more of an "Oh well" reaction than anything really.
This new cap is dumb. I haven't gotten an item in over 10 hours.
I'm glad VALVe did what they did. I feel like I don't need to idle anymore so I can play different steam games for once. Think of this as an intervention.
You can't link to your hard-drive. That post was just a trainwreck.
And I got bored with idling (yes, bored with doing nothing) about a month ago so I don't really care.
I hope this new thing will give me my pain train.

Max cap? What have i missed?
Max cap? What have i missed?
In a week there is a certain amount of time that you can get items, some hours roll over if not used. At the starteach sessions/game of TF2 and after a drop the dice rolls for when you will get your next item and then I believe Mr. 64 sided dice returns 1,2,3 = hat anything else = item
I kind of miss idling...I'd leave it on and go to sleep that night anticipating what I would get.

Same here. I loved that feeling you get when you see a hat waiting for you in the morning. Such a good way to start the day :(

Ah. I think i understand.
I like my total play time. I'll keep growing it so I can brag about my huge number!! :O
oh and swim in a pile of hats and refined metals that nobody will ever ever be able to acquire without YEARS of "new age" idling.
My only heartbreak is for Source Tools :(
On the other side, I had a change of job recently to something much better, which meant very little time for Source Tools, so.. eh, I'll work on it for nifty little utilities and tools, but I know it won't ever see the very brief popularity it had in the last month.
I looked at my backpack today and saw my 4 hats. "i feel happy with my backpack" i said, And i dont know if i will ever idle again...
:mystery:
Well, just idle whenever a week is about to end
I'm really mad right now...I think I may of somehow capped out how much shit I can get in a week and I'm 2 scrap away from a hat. So all I can really say right now is...Fuck...what now?
I stopped idling after the halocaust

Play the game or get over yourself?
Play the game or get over yourself?
I have been playing the game. I just can't get items now because I apparently already hit my max cap after 8 items which is bullshit.

Same Here.
Oh well, at least comfort with the knowledge that no one else is getting more items then you now.
