you should really learn to do that stuff yourself.
I am learning. Or trying to. But Ben Henry even said that he likes modelling my concepts. And in return I have to make concepts for HIM.
I am learning. Or trying to. But Ben Henry even said that he likes modelling my concepts. And in return I have to make concepts for HIM.
Still seems a bit one-sided to me. No offense.
Maybe you should pay Ben Henry in concepts to teach you to model?
I think if we're going to do this "Power Struggle" pack, we should associate a type of energy to each class. Perhaps: Pyro: Burning fuel, obviously. Scout: Wind? He runs like the wind after all. Sniper: Solar? Just seems right to me. Engineer: Electricity. Clearly. Medic: Lightning? Maybe too similar to Electricity, but Mad Scientist after all. Feel free to post other ideas. These are merely ideas I had. :buddy:
Sniper: Solar? Just seems right to me.
Solar power rifle, because a sniper has the inability to move when it discovers a bright sunlit corner.

The electric pack came from the idea of two electric companies fighting, the "Alpha vs Hurtz" Naturally the theme focused of any power sources, but one would be nice, clean and such the "Alpha" and the other would have been made for horrificness, gruesome and potentially home made "Hurtz" Which is why the first two logos I made for the pack are "Alpha electric" and "Hurtz electric & electricals"
I think most of the people bitching about the theme are people who aren't contributing anything. I think most of the people who will actually be making stuff are fine with the electric idea. Anyone who complains about it simply isn't using their imagination.
guys, if you're running out of ideas consider taking up the defibrillator. a limited range defibrillator gun or a melee would be fucking awesome. (i know some guy from polycount already modeled it for the medic but who cares )

First two days would be for Alpha and Hurtz respectively and focus mainly on the electric items. Then the rest of the days would be focused on the other types of power, all of them subsidiaries of the big two corporations. We could even have people vote on the last day for their favorite set of weapons and release a special item depending on the winner. Or whatever.
So something like this? EDIT: Rate me clocks for not noticing an edit.

Just a little something I made out of fun. That latency is too damn high!

(even then you can go onto creating new companies) Also I shalt repost the Alpha & Hurtz logos. to show the two companies.

Does anybody had idea about replace scout Dog tag on necklace with his emblem?
If you can, make it replace the cigarette and have poots instead of cigarette smoke.
No, make him smoke them both at the same time...
These are all of the icons I said I was working on. Should I add one for: Stickies Baseball Sentry Rockets ? edit: I had some spare time, so I made this: (Its the part that I messed around with (just edited it a little), I call it a civilian kill icon, but I just posted it for anyone else if they wanted to mess around with it.)

When you get hit with an arrow, the arrow wouldn't blow you back causing you to throw your feet/arms forward like you would with a rocket where your arms and legs are trying to keep up with your body but cant because they are on hinges and weigh less and the arrow would just go cleanly through you. And the grenades are just too damn big :/ I know this is TF2 which is unsrs from day 1 but you gotta have some thought about physics here. [sp]If you're going to make killicons And Release Them then don't be lazy and start from scratch on Most of them[/sp]
The problem is that there's no real solution to the scale problem, because if he scales them properly, they'll be too small to see in the killbar. Maybe if you showed the projectile hitting their feet from below?
Just a little something I made out of fun. That latency is too damn high! [img_thumb]http://i252.photobucket.com/albums/hh3/xXxHatboyxXx/Rentistoodamnhigh.png[/img_thumb]
I honestly thought this was a reference to the Ballchinian from Men In Black at first.
I had an idea similar to this, but it wasn't just for airshots. I thought it would be cool to differentiate between:

Airshots
Meatshots (all pellets connect)
Splash vs. direct hits
Airburst
Afterburn
Ninja (Kills from behind)
I don't have the time to make icons for these but I think it would be cool to see a concept of them. I pictured they would be about half the width of a standard icon and appear after the weapon icon, e.g. Player [Rocket] [Airshot] Enemy. I get that there is probably no benefit gameplay-wise -- just thought it might be cool.
no. keep killicons as simple as possible.
no. keep killicons as simple as possible.
That, and if you give the player too much info, they may be able to tell what the enemy is up to.

As Shounic mentioned, keep things simple, or else things just get too cluttered all over the place.
no. keep killicons as simple as possible.
I agree that we should keep icons readable, but I think this could be done in a neat and elegant way. The indicator icons don't even have to be that complicated. I'll find the time to draw up a concept which might change your mind. [editline]10th January 2011[/editline] I will just mention that CWalkthrough's idea is completely on a different track to what I am thinking. [editline]10th January 2011[/editline] Three possibilities for an airshot: The cloud is a bit ambiguous of course, but what do you think of it as an example? (Kill feed images pinched from NeoDement :3)

I feel brave enough expecting Valve to add an icon for every different type of reflected projectile.
