thanks for that shot cake, I hope it's not too late to give you some crits... not the best pic, I know, [url]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Rifle_AK-47.jpg[/url], but the wood part in the front would look much better curved if you're intending to keep it wood (even if not - metal - I'd still soften the holes in the side a little just to match with your really smooth joint thing in the front on the barrel) What's that box on the end for? I know it's good to add some visual interest, but it doesn't really match with the simplicity of the AK and I think there are better ways to do it (dents from the ref for example) - I think this applies a lot to the other pieces of your model... if you want to get that AK feel down solid, I'd go through and generally simplify it a bit, add a few large switches, etc and remove the boxiness ultimately that's a design choice and I guess TBH what bothers me is that I can't identify which direction you're headed in - it's trying to be both simple (front) and complex (back) at the same time and with a universally recognized shape, not seeing what I'd expect to doesn't work... either get rid of the simple or get rid of the complex I can't seem to shake the feeling that the heavy is 3 times smaller now... I guess that's not really a crit but it bothers me D: and definetly don't take this the wrong way - I love the model but overall it just seems a tad off and contradictory to me (that's enough edits for now :) )

As for the box on the end is a battery pack of sorts. It just have it there as filler. I want something popping out of it to make it look less plain. The barrel is too huge and the magazine almost touches the ground when you aren't even crouching. The handle and metal part on the back is decent enough.
It's supposed to be exaggerated.
I edited my last post but it's become really convoluted... what I feel about the gun is that it's trying to be two guns at once, simplistic in the front and complex in the back - that'd work for a lot of different designs, but since the AK is such a ubiquitous shape, I don't feel that it works here. So what I'd recommend is chose a style you would like to stick with, either simple (curvy, more natural flow) or complex (boxy, visual noise) and apply that to the entire model. My personal preference is a simpler model heavily based off that ref I posted, because it's an AK, but it's your call. I hope that's clearer. yet another edit - ill probably do a paintover to show you what I mean if it's not clear enough, but not tonight as its getting late

So, has a final theme (or collection of themes) for the emporium event been settled on yet? I'd like to know that way I can start drawing concepts for it while I'm bored in class.

Hand guard is far too thin, as well as the blade itself, which almost looks like a flat plane.

I had a thought about that katana, the current Soldier melee animations won't allow for a full sized sword. So I considered this, and how about it being a novelty cheese knife! :buddy: Also, considering stats is completely pointless.
