Is there anything else I could do to make this better? (If you want to answer, hop in my livestream at http://www.livestream.com/hummingbirdjames within the next couple of hours to give your opinion. Also, shameless plug! :v:)
Livestream chat wont work for me right now but I like when you had the back of the cannon heavy looking. Like a real cannon. Now I kinda tell its modeled after a cannon, but it feels like it lost a bit of its theme.
Can anyone help me with something?
So I tried to make the grass sculpture into a prop that I could see in the model viewer, and I used harvests small tree as a ref model. So I used MDLdecompiler to get the stuff I need, changed the stuff in the qc file and such, and when I used GUIstudioMDL is gives me an error: "cannot find bone static_prop for bbox" and then it aborts the process. I tried to assign a bone to the ref mesh but no results, can anyone help me? this is really the closest I got in getting a model to the model viewer.
*Btw using blender 2.5something beta with the smd exporter/importer
tl;dr "cannot find bone static_prop for bbox"
Sure the bone is called static_prop?
Yeah, it is, I also checked in harvests tree model and I can't seem to find any bone there, or maybe it's just an importer bug

More likely a decompiler bug, try remove the bbox and hbox lines.
I am proud to release my first ever skin:

It removes those "MOAR ISOTOPE" and "MANLINESS GUARANTEED" thingies, because i feel it looks better that way. Also fixes a pixelization on the main logo, but it's covered by scout's finger.
But the More Isotope is what makes it good.

Fuck yes, i'm so happy right now
Thanks pogothemunty, you also made me check it and I found that I had alot of typos in the file names too.
Now how the hell did I manage to fuck up the texture

Open your smd and check what texture the smd thinks it's looking for. Or just reexport your smd makings sure the correct material is assigned
Or even the model tab, I think - on the right

Broken link for me. :v:
Since the medieval update is actually happening, I was gonna repost the request for a gauntlet I made in another emporium but I couldn't find the message. So I'll just post it again.
Basically a gauntlet which replaces the Charge 'N' Targe which fits around the Demoman's hand.

I still don't know how you could fix the long distance vision problem. Since it can't obstruct art style or shadows. Also the heart shapes could be replaced with small holes that are shaped like stickies.

Yeah, missing VMT, I checked the faithfull tree model again and saw that it had this "tree_lighting.bmp" above its coordinates,in my model, it just had the textures name without the extension, I tried replacing the extension with ".vmt",".tga(format I used)",".vtf" but nothing worked
-btw my vmt and vtf and tga are named the same if that matters

The material name used in your program, has to be the same as the vmt.

I really need to help you with that model. Add me on Steam or get on livestream.
Hm, I found a problem but it lead to another problem
My materials were in the models folder
So I relocated the file named "grasstonhale.vtf" and "grasstonhale.vmt" and "grasstonhale.tga" into "materials/models/props_halemansion" and the models are at "models/props_halemansion"
the vmt is a simple one
"
"LightmappedGeneric"
{
"$basetexture" "models/props_halemansion/grasstonhale.vtf"
}
"
So I recompiled the qc after changing the name of the material folder in the qc, and now the VMT seems to be okay in the model viewer, but the model is gone.

I dont think you need an exporter for making models, only an importer

Get Milkshape Pro, cheaper than 3ds.
For fucks sake double ninja

Saving as a .smd didn't work, it gave me an empty file.

Yeah, that's kind of a stupid thing to do. .smd and .blend are two completely different file types.

I already have Milkshape as well. I'm following this tutorial, if that helps.

I guessed so, but it was the only other option I could find other than the exporter script.

There aren't any exporter scripts working I believe, and you should easily be able to export with Milkshape.
I'll install it in a sec and PM you, I have it somewhere in my download folders.
[editline]14th January 2011[/editline]
Oh, so I need a Milkshape license. Darn.

Also, I think Eeshton liked my texture.
