Shit new keyboards are hard to get used to.
Anyway, working with Ben Henry/SNIPA on a new heavy weapon.

Some ideas for the background, behind the postcards ?
It be amazing if you could get the map your going to be the most foremost. Be a problem with custom maps though
Oh also could we have some verity on the text like "Wish you where here, Coldfront." or something to do with the map "Keep on pushing from Thundermountain"
Sometimes, source is too much for people who haven't had any background in it. Hell untill I knew hammer like the back of my hand alot of stuff was too much for me. The truth is that, they don't go "FUCK IT TOO COMPLICATED", they're going "Man, this is complex. I'm going to take a step back and revisit it." Don't be singling out a type of people who appear to give up, because lets face it here - Whats happening is you explaining something in a very complicated fashion and them going "I don't understand, I don't think I want to do this anymore, I'll come back later"
[editline]2nd January 2011[/editline]
And, beleive it or not, if they say "I don't want to do this" Don't catch an attitude, just realise that one day, they're going to go back on it. I stopped mapping the first 3 minutes in source sdk the first time I tried it. And guess what, I went back.
As much as i hate you, you are not everyone. You may be able to work through the difficult task of learning, but not everyone can do that. A lot of people would be in modeling if they went back, but i know people who have great ideas but can't get around UIs, and tools. Now using hammer, there are many tutorials, many people use it, but the ability to learn is easier because you can send map files from person to person.
So i guess i can congratulate you for going back after giving up once, but not everybody can do it.

Iʻd Much rather look at this than, my stats and Youʻre On your Way to.
EDIT:
Instead of putting something behind those cards. Just use the cards as the backgrounds. It gives the game an actual 1950ʻs feel and looks amazing.

The unstated message of that post was that everyone goes back and tries again if it interests them enough.

And yes, hammer is well documented, so is every other Source program. It just takes a keen intrest in the topic.

For the first idea, i don't think if it's possible...
For the second, i changed some text : Keep fighting on Sawmill or We're bored on Hydro.

Hydro is boring dude, but the TC gamemod itself is good. VALVe, or the community, should create more TC's maps.
if you troll the pimping thread on polycount, you would notice cwalkthroughs made shit skins for like Bonk! until they kicked him out. He's shit and will be shit.
They kicked me out? I'm still signed up there.
You don't know shit.

Damn. Last time i played Hydro was to get that World Traveler achievement. That was like week 1 of my TF2.

Yeah, so you don't know anything about this map and don't have the right to tell if it's good or not.
We miss you from Hydro since no one plays that map
Ok, fuck this.
man if i can replace the critical hit icon with a floating skull that stays permanently, without looking at a single tutorial or walkthrough, then you can easily make a piddly little particle edit!
or, y'know, you could just go "fuck this" and not even try to learn.
Yeah, so you don't know anything about this map and don't have the right to tell if it's good or not.
Never said I hated Hydro. Just never play it. Or for that matter, no server hosts it.

"Wish you were here"
That could actually work pretty well.
How about some corny puns worthy of the 60's "we had a swell time"
How about some corny puns worthy of the 60's "we had a swell time"
Not really much of a pun...
"Wish you were here"

Or "Wish anybody was here"

But the thing is, I did try. I just don't think anyone was understanding me. Or I wasn't explaining myself correctly in what I wanted to do.

I tried at least... badly...
engineer needs bottle of beer to replace pistol.
Big Mean Motherhubbard's Brew
On swig: -30% accuracy on all weapons (excluding gunslinger and sentries) for 30 seconds, +regains all health
Has 3 swigs in it
Once the bottle is empty, engie will toss it over his shoulder; walking over it will regain 25 metal.

What use has an engineer for health regen? Also 30 seconds is a REALLY long time in game.
It would be cool if the emporium had a website.

it takes about ~20 seconds for a targe recharge, so it's not that bad.
considering the action of drinking it is only as long as his pistol taunt, and pretty useful if you're being chased by a heavymedic and your sentry's around the corner (take cover, take a swig, lead them to their doom)

If your sentry's just around the corner, chances are your dispenser is too.
I like hydro :saddowns:
But as for a background, a wooden table might be cool.
I'd rather if it had some effect like the crit-a-cola.
Basically, replaces the pistol, gives your shotgun and melee weapon minicrits and -30% accuracy for 10 seconds. Would work well as an anti-spy thing as well as for ambushing.
A short drunkened rage, the accuracy thing could be your aim automatically swaying from side to side.

I disagree. There typically is no "try". Most people won't even make an effort past "hey can someone link me to tools?" It is rare that someone would download all the tools and rage quit. I can almost guarantee the ones that rage quit haven't even started. Also, I won't point out any names here, but a lot of people here try to fit in by asking for modding tools even though they know their question has been answered countless times. They are trying to fit in without doing work and trying to appear interested. The people that are actually interested are the ones that go out and get the tools first before asking questions.

This post wasn't entirely related to what you said, but it is similar enough that I thought I would get it off my chest.
Got ditched along time ago when I think the guy he was working with just fucked off without a word or something.

im working on a rewrite that will include a lot more functionality. the holiday break has stopped my progress though.
