Gentlemen.
Don't want him running at you with THAT.
sexy robot are you using a phong mask on that? The wood shouldn't be as shiny as the metal and you should bring out the difference between the two metals on the blade.

Yeah there is phong, I'm fiddling around with settings and that's the best it's been so far. I'll continue fiddling with the alpha channel and phong.
Good idea with the blade though.

$20 says that Valve will leave it with the Shovel taunt if made official.

Honestly my avatar makes so much more sense now, thanks man! Would be nice if it had more 'glow' to it, though, looks kinda dull now
Also, TF2E, I have to ask your opinions.
What has the most complete package and compatibility with everything about modding and making items/hats for TF2.
I currently use Blender (Have never used anything else) but I want to try out which choice suits me best.
So far, I only got one answer and that was 3DS Max. Anything else? If nothing, I'm just gonna go with that and see how it works - I'm probably gonna have to reform from using Blender.
There isn't any comprehensive package that I know of, but as long as you have a .smd exporter, you should be fine (or you can even model in whatever app you want and then export to another app that can export to .smd).
that includes max, maya, and blender as far as I know
Looks good, too bad I have neither hat.
If you have any specific hat you'd like I'll whip that up... I guess the smart thing to do would be to compile it for every hat but that'll take a while and I'm lazy. ;)
I'll probably go ahead and release the replacement for the id badge with a team neutral texture.

Personally, I like Blender better, sparkwire will come in here in a minute or two and tell you naught, but you can choose what you like the best.
Choose Blender.

Now it just needs a pipe with smoke coming out of it and it completes the set! Maybe as a new camera beard model?
Now it just needs a pipe with smoke coming out of it and it completes the set! Maybe as a new camera beard model?
The Cigar, Man. that's why there is no Pipe for the spy.

Would be cool if you could do it for the Rack. :D

Unless they implemented HUTTAH NECK SNAP
The Cigar, Man. that's why there is no Pipe for the spy.
But the smoking pipe fits the Sherlock Holmes theme.
make a pipe, send it to valve, then they'd make a bodygroup for the cigarette
Now it just needs a pipe with smoke coming out of it and it completes the set! Maybe as a new camera beard model?
As previously mentioned all the pipe could really do is float there.
But I'm definitely going to start work on it as an accompaniment. Optional of course, since it would just float there, but it would fit quite nicely.

I've used 3DS max, Blender, and one or two other 3D modelling programs and I can tell you I find Blender 2.5 the best so far. It's one of the least complicated, but still very powerful. The controls are much better in my opinion too.
3DS max is definitely a good option too though. It all comes down to preference.
I've already made the Fear-no-Anvil.
It lacked team colours, which was the only reason I stopped using it. Of course if you were to redo the thing I'd request the gears it uses instead of that plasma orb thing you did, but that's unlikely.
here's some Photoshopping:

i wanted to see what shirtless classes would look like...
doesn't really work on spy IMO and i'd skip the armbands...
Also might look more gay then manly (saxton hale type of manly) but it would open up a whole bunch of opportunities for skins
so, anyone wanna hack this up?
[img_thumb]http://img80.imageshack.us/img80/9756/preview11.png[/img_thumb]

I say its a good idea. But how it wowuld work? like if the hat is painted a certain color, the weapon will be too?

Well I was just thinkin' the zip has weapons, click the weapon, sub folders of the paint, then copy that folder's materials to what not.
