Turns out BANG's thing doesn't closely match what my thing does. So that's good.

this reminded me, who was making those really high-quality gibs
they had models and textures for each class' gibs then they disappeared off the face of the earth

I have more things to fix and other features to add before I can worry about that, and again TFMV/Itemtoast are side projects and they are complex and fairly easy to break things, first things first please.

I think it works, but when I try to actually see a loadout, it doesn't appear.
And I have both the player model and a hat loaded.

If you can pull it off then yes you can make it look different. I'd recommend a worn out texture for the hat.

I hopefully won't be texturing it unless noone else wants to (I couldn't texture anything that's not an unbaked base colours model). I was going to try and go for something classier and more-serious (even with the flower) to try and get a fitting-ish hat with stuff like the Whiskered Gentleman, or the tuxxy or whatever.
