That seems a bit too smooth on the parts that hook the rig. there should be hard edges on them.

I usually just use the rectangle brush with an aspect ratio of -0.10 (makes it square) + transparency, a light grey on multiply.

i just got online too see all of this lol. it doesnt matter whether or not Retro, Void and I shade our stuff, quality is important instead of spewing out ideas that don't exactly fit with valve's and the community's standards.

My question now is, is it too big? If it is I am willing to fall back to the older version and work on refining that one.

Well the character in many renditions was depicted with long sleeves, and some asymmetry. Which could spell some issues when making one for the Medic.

Well the thing about them is that all the petals are copies of one model arranged in a row that is forced through a curve that encloses the Medic's head.
To hand model each petal would extremely time consuming.
