Is there a term for cutting a piece of a mesh?
Like for example, if I want to cut the glasses from a head mesh, to make it its own mesh, how would that be called?

Select the faces you want to separate in edit mode and press p.

Detach the faces?

Detach or extract polygons (with the option to delete or keep the original), depending on your modeling program. In Max, you can get that by right clicking while on the polygon edit modifier; in XSI, you can just right click > extract polygons, and in Blender I think it's just shortcut "P."

I'd thin the leggings a bit, and maybe tinge them a bit darker. They look a bit like 80's Japanese school girl leggings instead of WW2 soldier leggings. Both directions are incredibly sexy, but I think a thinner iteration would fit the Medic's boot shape better.

I tried making the tip white, but it just doesn't mesh well with the broken off pieces.

I can see why Valve made the Festive Crusader's Crossbow's projectile's tip a darker colour, it's a bit bland without it.
That actually looks pretty good.

i was going to make a mod to completely flatten the normals on the back since it was so terrible, though someone beat me to it i guess.

How does C models work?
From what I understand, they are like V and W models merged, right?
If so, what happens when the C model looks good on third person, but its glitched in 1st person?

Sharp Dresser.
Got a skin that made it so it has the armlet thingy, although it only works with a custom player model I have.
It looks fine on 3rd person, but on 1st person there are only the animations, but no blade.

Does the custom model of yours have a custom firstperson model? If so check to see if the first person model supports the rigging of the custom sharp dresser. Open it up in HLMV and see if the model is missing the proper bones, or if the custom sharp dresser model is flawed.

Nope, the custom player model is only on 3rd person.
And when I try to use the Sharp Dresser on 1st person mode, I think it appears but much lower, like on the bottom of the screen.

Could you post an image of the model with the custom sharp dresser in third person? In addition can you open the sharp dresser model up in HLMV to see which bones it's using?

the head looks like a watered-down version of the hat and beard items that came with the ward at first glance
and the sweater, with a dress shirt coming out the cuffs of the sleeves, doesn't make sense, because it's still going over a full lab coat

i haven't finished the area below the belt, i intend on making it a full coat. as for the head however, i see what you mean so i'm gonna go ahead and fix that up
