Alright, i've done some finishing touches on the spy camera and I've got it under the tri limit. Now comes the hard part in my opinion. I have absolutely zero experience in any of the skinning process. I've had a go at unwrapping it, but I am stumped as to how I would fit all of the knobs etc into 512x512. If someone would be kind enough to unwrap it for me I would very much appreciate it.
tri limit?
A new emporium, sweet. [sp]I've posted this on the previous emporium, but not properly. So here you go.[/sp]
Could this also include the robot medic?
tri limit?
The tf2 FAQ on workshop items says that weapons should have no more than 6500 polygons, which I assume in this context means triangles as all TF2 models are triangulated.
Weight transfer on the arms worked fine the chest however isn't as fine if anyone is interested in fixing up the rigging let me know
Does anyone have a link to that mod that greys out / removes part of the classes bodies and stuff for backpack images?
The Party Animal:
might as well make it replace the cigarrete. it looks way too silly that way(unless you ignore the disguise kit's taunt)
imo it would be better with more cigarettes
imo it would be better with more cigarettes
[t]http://files.gamebanana.com/img/ss/srends/90642a.jpg[/t] [editline]29th November 2013[/editline] there is even an updated Version [t]http://files.gamebanana.com/img/ss/srends/50e793bb02145.jpg[/t] http://tf2.gamebanana.com/skins/123210
that might be a good item if it was about half the cigarettes, really intense smoke particles, and no retarded eyes
that might be a good item if it was about half the cigarettes, really intense smoke particles, and no retarded eyes
it was based off some meme drawing that circulated years ago, i understand why it makes you cringe it would be an interesting misc if it could be implemented with jsut the mouth, though.
I didn't say it made me cringe, I know the meme and appreciate the mod. I'm just saying it could be a good actual item with those changes :]
Does the Itemtest Map have a default Cubemap?
All this snow as of late has been driving me crazy. What a perfect time of the year to visit my hometown for six weeks, yeah? At least it's been somewhat inspiring. I don't have a lot of ideas, but here's a few hats, miscs, and sets up for grabs. I've been trying to spread these around to my pals on Steam but I'm pretty sure my sister has some sort of dial-up connection for her internet goin' on. Lemme know if anyone's interested in any of these, and I apologize if any of these have been done before. Also, would anyone happen to have any in-depth guides or words of advice on how to properly texture models for tf2? I know of the Polycount guide and how to stick to style, but it's the technical stuff like alpha channels, normals, VMTs, and similar terminology I'd like to hit up on. When I get back home I'd absolutely love to start texturing my own concepts if I find someone to collaborate on models with me. Any help would greatly be appreciated!

Gonna claim the last all class hat, and the jolly heavy if the pending falls through! edit: everything is claimed that i was gonna do... aw heck, put me down for the rat king. :) edit: and the wrapped backpack
Retro, you are officially the new Rob Laro. Seriously, man, you're fuckin going places. [editline]holy fuck why's it so damned cold outside[/editline] Agh, shit, horrid page king. Here, have some progress shots. [sp]I took your advice, Venny c:[/sp]
Retro, you are officially the new Rob Laro. Seriously, man, you're fuckin going places.
What about me? and other conceptors?
Concepts
Can i take the Jolly Heavy set if its pending? and also the scrooge set?
What about me? and other conceptors?
I love you, too, inspecter. Retro just happened to have made a metric ass ton of concepts on the previous page, was all. You silly, you.

That way the Scout logo can also be seen. Unless you're trying to keep it uniform across all the classes.

Unless you're trying to keep it uniform across all the classes.
Yeah, I fiddled around with angles, but I ultimately decided that having them be diagonal would make them fit into the space the best, and thus make them larger and easier to see. Not only that, but the symbol behind them isn't nearly as important as what weapon they're carrying and by effect what class of robot they are. As for size, the files themselves actually don't look half bad at 64x64, but I'm still really fucking worried that compression will utterly destroy them. If only there was some way to just kill compression entirely. It really has been a thorn in my side for too damned long.
Retro, you are officially the new Rob Laro. Seriously, man, you're fuckin going places.
no offense or anything but that's going a bit far
that might be a good item if it was about half the cigarettes, really intense smoke particles, and no retarded eyes
Could probably be made in the same way as that misc with the huge hilariously ugly spy teeth
no offense or anything but that's going a bit far
Oh. Sorry, I didn't mean to insult anyone, I was just trying to compliment Retro. He's a fantastic artist, and I was saying that he could do potentially anything if he honed his skills. Sorry if I inadvertently hurt anyone's feelings, I can snip it if you'd like.

You could just say "Major" or something instead.
I love this too much But the LOD is broken I think, it gets all jumbled and there is no eyes, it looks very odd.

Can't help you with the compression issue though, ha, sorry dude.
