Uploaded the ww2 set today since I had deleted it off the workshop while it wasn't working properly:
Not sure if maps can be shown off here, but I finally released one after 3 or so years of using hammer. I can't model like all you beautiful bastards, but I can make blocks and place props.

Is the base disguised as anything?
I mean like, I get that it is an industry inspired area with a spybase inside... but I can't really tell what sorta industry it's masquerading as.
Basically... right now it just looks like random concrete buildings, like a mix of gorge and hydro but more generic without the dam or water purification plant themes. The only sign I see in the images is the "gray gravel co", but it really looks nothing like any of the other gravel industry maps.
Something wip by toxic

I think spartan armor would fit better but anything to go with the defiant spartan.

spartan armor looks too similar to the steel six pack
spartan armor looks too similar to the steel six pack
So? There are like 50 fedoras in the game and people are constantly making more.
spartan armor looks too similar to the steel six pack
I'm opposed to the general idea of putting ancient armor in TF2, but one class having a certain type of item should prevent a different class from getting a similar one.
Also, most of the 'fedoras' in TF2 are trilbies. Really, I think TF2 needs more fedoras. [sp]And also, more trilbies. [/sp]
I love armour items in TF2.
There definetly should be atleast 1 full-body armour item per class.
Would like some opinions on the texture I have so far.

I'd still recommend some dents and scratches.

Is steam down for anyone? I can't log into my account, but i can visit the site perfectly fine.

Once again, too much color change
So, I'm trying to edit the cubemaps of the invulnerability players (cubbemapper.vtf and invun_red.vtf), by changing them from another color, but when i test them, doesn't show in game.
What I'm doing wrong?
Just looking at this pic alone, you can see how white and worn the buildings are. Personally, I would name this...

Anyone agree?
Thats... beautiful.

Thanks for the feedback. I was having an issue with overusing some signs, so several were removed from the cap_a area, causing it to look a little bland. As far as the dam from hydro, the map was built from the beginning with the dam in mind, I've just haven't created the skybox yet.
i wanted a different style helmet than the glasgow great helm so i made my own. then the workshop died and i accidentally made the boots in the free time. all 3 are on tf2mods.

[t]http://quecosplayhago.files.wordpress.com/2012/04/hilde.jpg[/t]
I'm getting major Soul Calibur vibes from this set. I love it.
On the subject of Soul Calibur, I always disliked Hilde, not because of her character design but because she was such a terrifically unwieldy and weak character to play as. It would be totally badass to see a Nightmare/Soul Age inspired set of Demoman armor. Maybe this Halloween...
So I'm still getting error of "missing bone X for bbox" when I try to compile.
How do you group a mesh with the bones? Maybe doing that will fix it.

you could probably save some UV space by overlapping some of the bolts
you could probably save some UV space by overlapping some of the bolts
maybe even all of them
Once again, too much color change
I don't think the armor would work for this reason. It's not like you can have red armor, right?

could be painted or tinted
could be painted or tinted
as long as it can't obscure (naturally or through paints) the colored areas that are necessary for team dentification then there shouldn't be any problem
you could probably save some UV space by overlapping some of the bolts
Not worth the effort at all imo, the UV looks pretty tight
even if the bolts look too high res, doesn't really matter because the texture is fine

My dreams, realized.
His suspender straps aren't smoothed right though, and there is a small one-sided face visible by the heel of his left boot.
