I didn't just brighten the wood, I made it more saturated and orange tinged
its supposed to be old, it would loose its color from age like most wooden things. that's the reason why the whole thing is very washed out colors. Saturating it would kind of defeat the purpose of portraying that.
Anyone knows how can I achieve a pulsing light effect like the Chinese characters on the neon annihilator?

The revolver cylinder doesn't look very functional. It appears to melt into the barrel and wouldn't be able to rotate.

I believe that version of a kilt depended on Valve adding a whole lower legs bodygroup.

I think the shells are a bit too bright and should have some kind of indentation on the bottom to resemble an actual shell

And the cylinder looks caked into the gun.

I meant the shoes heck I even said shoes in the post, we have a perfectly good kilt as it.

While I see your point I'm not getting that impression at all. Visual wear in the texture would convey that much better than a pale color.
Also being old isn't at all necessary for the concept is it? Because if it doesn't look good I think it's not too big a sacrifice to just say "eh why not it's a newer barrel"
Or at least just "demo stained the wood because he's classy like that"
making the barrel look old should be one of your last concerns, way below making the weapon look good.
I apologize for nitpicking, I know that's frustrating, but it's a great model and I want to help ensure it's perfect.

i understand that your trying to be helpful, but most of the colors we've tried don't really look good. we've tried a cherrywood/mahogany, orange, white, and just brown. most of them aren't very visually appealing. too saturated and it looks gaudy, and too unsaturated and it looks too old. its rather hard finding a good in-between other than what we already have.
sometimes you just need to listen to an outside perspective. For an anecdote, I was set on using this as a color scheme for one of my old models:
[t]http://puu.sh/1QiXA[/t]
and after brushing off tons of criticism for it I finally caved and changed it to this
[t]http://puu.sh/1QGyo[/t]
and looking back the original is so much uglier and I have no idea what I was thinking at the time.
Basically, point is your own perspective is always warped and you should never trust it.

The whole revolver thing just looks awkward and I can't see how that would look during reloading. The entire model has waaay too many really "flat" spaces on it. It clips through Engie's hand. There's no trigger guard. The shells don't look like they're snugly in place at all and seem rather oddly placed. Smoothing the trigger would be a good idea.
It needs a good amount of TLC, but there's a neat idea here.

it's currently not looking like a worn color to me either, but i want to see how it's like with wear and tear first. you should have the base color on its own layer so it can be changed on the fly if need be though.

remove the revolver thing altogether. you think it looks "nice", but it simply doesnt work. the whole thing just looks like a cheap plastic toy.

While the revolver bit is weird, I think the only reason it looks like a cheap plastic toy is the simplicity of the texture, which will probably be changed later on.

The strap on the shotgun shells on top needs to curve with the shells, so it actually loks like it's holding them on and not just over them.
This entire area of the gun looks empty and feels plasticy.

I remade the texture almost entirely. Much better now. I hope you like it. I'll workshop it tomorrow.

Using Saxxy anims for the melee version so it'll be easier to make this work for Soldier, Engie, and Heavy.
EDIT: Huh, first time I ever got a dumb rating for something I've made. If anyone has any negative critique for the gun, please let me know. I want to make this as good as I can make it.

Made a few changes, still not overly sure. No more clipping with the Engie's hand, turned that metal bit for the shells to a material strap, made it a bit shorter to reduce how much flat surface area there is. The revolver bit may just end up being completely replaced by something else, but not sure what just yet.
