Dang. I've made like three separate attempts to makean Engineer bomber jacket, for the exact same reason. All looking much less good than this one, I might add. Since it'd be pointless for me to make a fourth attempt now, feel free to steal the name/desc I had in mind if you want to: The Dogfighter 'Made from the pelts of thirty chihuahuas defeated in air-to-air combat.'
Hey guys been a while since my last submission... Lots of stuff went on in my life. Anyways I just thought I would post my newest WIP workshop item: The Aero-neer Jacket! I wanted a jacket that went with the Barnstormer leather helmet for the engineer. I still have a bunch of light texture work to do, and do a Blu themed pinup for the Blu jacket texture... I also need to rig this thing and maybe make a higher LOD version of the item just for shits and giggles. So what do ya guys think? Do you think it's something that might make it this winter or am I covering up the colors too much/ obscuring the silhouette/ having something too offensive on the texture(boobs) ect...
Maybe try making the pinups look more like the ingame ones. Just a suggestion, the one you made looks great already.
Since it'd be pointless for me to make a fourth attempt now, feel free to steal the name/desc I had in mind if you want to: The Dogfighter 'Made from the pelts of thirty chihuahuas defeated in air-to-air combat.'
Well seeing as you made three attempts, Of course I'll use your name! Thanks for the compliment! And I wonder if anyone can tell me what they have done with jackets they made to push the colors... Mostly I see big team colored sleaves and vests.... The big difficulty I've been finding is that at a distance the armband and the lower sleeve are not the easiest to see... So I tinted the fur and the leather to the team colors.... Also the pinup on the jacket also serves well flash the team color from the back... Do you think I've done enough to not obscure the team the player is on? On that subject. The pinup is vector based and copied and pasted into Photoshop as a smart object. (It's taking me longer to do the pinups that the jacket itself!) I was thinking of making them into sprays down the line. Here's a better view of the Red pinup:
I know i keep posting random questions, but does the $additive vmt command HAVE to apply to the entire item, or can i make some faces additive and some opaque? I'd greatly appreciate some help :)
Keep fixing these buttons in mind then, they don't make sense now :v:
What's wrong with them?

[editline]1st December 2013[/editline]
So, any takers for this? I have news about a certain collab between me gibbly and a surprise guest about redoing an old concept a while back involving a Bavarian/Austrian Christmas demon.
Sent the Demoman 'pagan' set over to Pie_Tony for texturing. Bloodfart has also kindly asked if he can do SFM promos for the set as well. Watch this space!
What's wrong with them?
Think how jackets/suits work. Inner side has buttons to hold the outer one with holes, overlapping a bit at the same time. I showed that on the left side. Your jacket doesn't overlap that much, so that upper button looks like it was glued, same for the last button. It can't work that way, because it would look like the example on the right side. Also, one minor thing worth mentioning while we're at it (you made it right) - right side (or left if you're wearing it now) should be always on top in case of shirts, jackets, coats and suits. Having it other way around is characteristic for women's clothing.
Apparently Constructor knows something I don't, What do you know that makes me late Constructor?

So for some reason in the Half Life Model Viewer I'm seeing an error model with the player models when I open it The problem started when I accidently added the medigun model with the medic model
Actually I think the pimp suit is a bad idea that can't be improved, and the yeti stuff will be reworked into yeti wear.

would anyone be willing to make a vestless sniper model? ;w; there's one for SFM but i'm surprised there isn't one for in-game yet..

Bapaul, that's some serious "anchor management". Wooo.... *drum assist* (Amazing job!)
..And so, Santa Claws said to the reindeer; "touch not my toast, lest ye ruin Smissmas for all the good people: young and old!". The reindeer was astonished by this, telling all the polar bears and penguins of the secret Mexican pole Santa Claws' special message to all the animals of the planet. And from that day, Pyro wore a toaster strapped to his head around every Smissmas time. Also paintable: Needs some fixes and actual brush strokes, then it's off to Santa Claws' workshop of toast. It had some toast as a grenade replacement originally, but I can't texture toast for damn, and it's not that good to have a grenade replacement as a part of a hat.
Why aren't the toast holes modelled in? They look ridiculously flat
Why aren't the toast holes modelled in? They look ridiculously flat
I had issues with plains, half the time they didn't show up, and once I'd pieced them together they worked fine until I added a bottom plain, which just messed stuff back up. I don't see it as a stupidly major thing though.
I too have had trouble with plains. [t]http://i.imgur.com/Okobcnr.jpg[/t] you came to the wrong neighborhood motherfucker
what?
I'm not sure with this, but when you add a flat plane on blender, only one side renders. But if you merge the vertices on the ends together, the "active face" can change itself, so you end up having holes in your model. I think.

So here's an idea I had drawn a while ago, never got round to showing you guys, but I'm looking for any takers! Soldier misc, its a boot, nice and warm, fuzziness for everyone. And I know there is a similar item on the workshop already, but I thought I'd give it a go, get some feedback. I am a beginner after all. And I was too lazy to draw the other foot, please forgive me.

Changing the overlap would have resulted in the model not triangulating properly with the Spy's existing polys. Or something, Flubbman rigged it and said something along those lines. The buttons on the other hand, well. I made them big so they'd be visible, but you do have a point there. I'll see if they can be made smaller with minimal effort - the jacket's already been rigged and had LODs made, and I'd hate to have to put Flubbman through the whole thing again just for some buttons.
