Depends on the font. The one he linked to says free, but the person will have to look at the read me file to be sure.

The bag will be full of rock-climbing kit like cams and nuts. I'll also be making a climbing helmet and chalkbag for some reason :downs:
I've been climbing for about 6 years and no climber uses a bag like that to carry trad gear, they use a gear sling. Having rope as the shoulder strap doesn't make sense either, rope is heavy, make it webbing instead. I understand it's an interpretation and not supposed to be 100% accurate but it doesn't even come close.
Okay so my friend and I are looking for a little feedback on how to improve these items here. The Shoe attachments and the Shoulder Guard are one item.

I'm not sure everyone would agree on this buy I would say make the shoe attachment be seperate from the shoulder guard (and then have the arm guards be part of the shoulder guard misc) and then maybe add something to either his belt or his knees (or both).
That's just me though.
personally not feeling the flames. let's compare to pyro's unused Reserve Shooter to see what they did right:
[t]http://th08.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE/i/2011/290/5/c/pyro__s_reserve_shooter_by_elbagast-d4d5hqo.png[/t]
*simple one color, no noisy gradients
*less vibrant, in-your-face colors
*no outline which makes it look soft and adds yet another color to the fray
*strong form, the fire is expressed through contour not color
*on a TC background making it much less strong contrast compared to unsaturated black
*barely intersects the shell ejection port (probably not much you can do about this)
*the shell ejection port is similar in color to the background making less contrast and color noise (in your case you might just wanna paint the port a similar color as the flame)
If you disagree you should reply cause I made a lot of points and I like to think at the very least some of them are valid
I personally think the hotrod shotgun does it better,
i've always thought the pyro reserve shooter looked pretty disgusting somehow, and the flames actually look a lot noisier and out of place on that
what i would say about the hotrod shotgun though is turn down the saturation on the red flames, aside from that ti's looking good

I don't like the CS on TS either but this other one simultaneously has some of the brightest most saturated colors with some of the most pure black I've seen on a weapon

i agree that the red flames are over-saturated, but i think the blue flames are fine and the black seems well within the usual range, it's more the clean metal that's too bright imo, needs to be a bit darker so it can shine more clearly

the blue does look fine to me as well, guess I forgot to specify I was talking about the red specifically for most of that post
still, do you agree a sharper and more defined contour would be much better? I'm not asking him to necessarily make it at that scale or with the stenciled on paint effect but it gives off the idea of "fire" much better

I thought about this, and while I do agree that the red can be toned down, the flames are pretty nice. It captures the feel of what it's supposed to represent. Hot rods are meant to be flashy, in this we get flair but toned down just enough to fit TF2's all around theme. The RS on the other hand is too desaturated to be team colored. It looks fine in olive but those drab reds and blues just make the gun look boring. The outline also makes the flame look like a decal which is kind of the point. I really can't judge about the noise of the gradient unless I see it at a further distance. Noise is only noticable to me at mid to long range. Just my two cents.

It was a reel challenge to think of a good name and description, but I got lazy and just went with a cable guy reference.

noise means a lot of things. In this context it just means noticeable extreme differences in a small area. Contrast would probably have been a better word choice. Anyway, just Google "hot rod flames" to see which one is a more accurate representation of the culturally expected design.

The difference I see between the actual decals and the gun is that the gradient on the gun is just left to right straight up yellow to red. In the pictures you'll see that the gradient only begins around the edges of the design. Are you suggesting that it should follow that pattern?

I'm not suggesting anything about the colors right now, only the shape
I have no clue if that kind of gradient would look any good, I guess it's worth a test?

Oh, ok I see where you're coming from with the shape. Maybe if he added little tongues of flame separate from the full body of fire so it would look less like tendrils.
Can someone fix the shell ejection (and slide + port if you can) for Pyro's Reserve Shooter?
Just a heads up to everyone, i'm beginning to learn how to texture at the moment,
so if anyone has any models that need texturing let me know... i can't guarantee they'll be much good, but we'll see.
