Can anyone fish out the old broken Scottish handshake model? Apparently they removed it back in 2012. I wanna try something with it.

In that case it's not necessary but it helps a lot for game performance.

For mods, they are pretty much just a courtesy for people with crappy computers. I usually only make LODs on player models that I know are going to be downloaded by a lot of people. To make good LODs you are supposed to manually remove edge loops on your model. I actually just use the Decimate modifier, which is not in any way the spawn of satan the emporium makes it out to be. You just have to be careful with how you use it. Remove model smoothing, separate your model into new objects to work on 1 area at a time, and turn textures on to make sure you don't break any important UVs. Just be careful not to completely decimate any points of articulation so you don't mess the rigging up too much. The goal is to minimize as much as possible the "pop" between levels of detail as you zoom away in model viewer with Auto LOD turned on. Basically decimate in moderation and apply cleanup afterwords, and it will serve you well. If you just decimate and do nothing else it will come out terrible. Or like, just remove edge loops.

Does anyone have a link to the Bioshock Brute Heavy? If it still even works? Would be cool if someone overhauled it like the Stylish Spy is currently undergoing.

It goes well with the Brute splicer voicepack, but unfortunately there are more lines in TF2 than there were for Bioshock 2.

You're suppose to lower the tri count (I often see people recommend 50% is good and stopping around 500 tris) and then adjust the distance in the QC until there's minimal popping
