I hate when people get mad that Pryo gets random stuff, even though it's Valve's creative choice. I mean jeez, look at the comics and Meet the Pyro. Pyro is random, that's what they want for Pyro, and that's okay with me.

when you actually make items you realize how boring it is making serious items 100% of the time. It's going to happen no matter what, and using pyro for it is better than using other classes for it.

what kind of argument is "valve made the pyro random".
Does anyone know how to fix the broken rotation on the short circuit? While working on Cosa's weapon replacement for it I realized I had no clue how to fix the rotation.
It either it works fine in the world while being rotated incorrectly in the view, or correct in the view while incorrect in the world.

That's far worse than people getting bent out of shape over Sega changing Sonic's canon word to other things on a whim. What's wrong with Valve choosing what's canon and actually sticking to it, instead of changing it all the time?

For me it's not a canon issue, its a theme of "I made a [insert literally anything here], but what should I do with it? I know, I'll just put it on Pyro's back!".

I'd rather hear constructive criticism about the model, or how fitting it is with the current canon over "stop putting random stuff on pyro cause it's stupid, too many people do it, and I don't like it." The latter doesn't help anyone improve upon a model, or make it more fitting in any way, and that's depressing in a community dedicated to working together to make things for a game. Very counter productive.
I think the window on the door of the oven stands out far too much, and needs to be a much lighter de-saturated color. Not sure about the red trim on that window either, but my opinion on that may change with a different color scheme for the window.

The concept of a model and the actual model are very different. You can have a great idea for an item and the model be meh, and you can have a bad idea for an item but with an excellent model for it.

I think the point isn't that Valve made it canon, it's that it wasn't canon before valve made an objectively/arguably poor decision when they decided to make his "wackiness" canon. Now that's, once again, entirely objective and arguable and really personal preference over anything, but I think the difference is that you are okay with Valve canonizing his clear-cut wackiness and insanity whereas many still prefer the original Orange Box Pyro, who was only as wacky as he needed to be to light people on fire; wearing a beanie, traffic cone, etc doesn't make him a better pyromaniac, it makes him more crazy, and that's the line that's being drawn.
That being said, I'm 100% an advocate for people making whatever mods they want for whatever they want because while things that are submitted with the intent of being added should suit the game's style and flavor, mods people create for recreation or practice really can/should be whatever they are comfortable with/want to make because in the prior, the intention is for EVERYONE to experience that mod eventually by it being added, whereas the latter is for a select group of people who want said mod and nobody else. "It's not being forced on you, so who are you to judge anything other than its production quality?" kind of mentality.

That linked submission is terrible! Why would Pyro need a game of Pool on the go?
