Bring it all in a bit closer to the head, looks like it'll slide off at the moment. You may also want to angle the top forward a bit more since most of the time I wear similar headphones, they never sit completely vertical.

I'm finally making my first model, and it's a Japanese style bridge. It's very basic right now, but still over 7000 tris. Is that number acceptable for use as a static prop?
My real question, however, is unwrapping the actual model. I'd like to get to texturing it, but I have no idea how to cut the thing up. Do I have to group everything together first and mark tons of seams? How do I keep track of what exactly is what when I unwrap? It all looks super jumbled and I don't know how anyone knows what anything is.

Generally your model will be the one mesh with separate elements within, they can still be unwrapped if not, but that can be a pain a most times.
7000 tri's is a lot, you don't need that much detail on the cylinder-like shapes on the end, especially since they still retain their shape from all angles, you'd only use that many tri's for shading.
There's a billion ways to unwrap things, some people like to mark edges, and people like me like to break it into a billion pieces depending on the flatness of the surface and stitched it back together.
And there's lots of different ways of tracking what you've wrapped and not, such as putting the unwrapped pieces aside, or hiding the tris that you've already unwrapped, slapping a checker texture on it and unwrapping all the bits that look stretched beyond fuck, or just plain remembering, your item isn't that complicated, the tri's you select DO show up on your model so you know what you've got selected.

Merge vertices together in edit mode, there an even number on all(?) shapes so if you crush every two vertices into one it'll half your tri count (on the cylinders alone obviously), you can do it again if it's not enough too.

Don't merge verts, it messes up the UV and can also screw up things during compilation if the verts aren't lined up properly. Use the Dissolve function to get rid of edge loops/verts (delete button).

Well if he hasn't unwrapped it yet, the UV doesn't matter. There's not a problem with merging vertices if there's no UV to worry about.

All licensed Lego sets (except for a few early ones) use flesh tones. So, it makes sense.
why not just go all out and make playermodels? if its for shits and giggles.
