You probably already know this, but the guard isn't long enough, doesn't cover his whole hand.
I'm pretty sure they switched the SMG over to the c_model system a while ago.
They did which fucked over one of my WIP mods, unless you people want to have the weapon slide lodged into the snipers hand in 3rd person.
Anyone got any good tutorial links for making weapons?
Nope, Its all hats! or its melee weapons.
Anyone have the most recent tutorial/method for modeling with blender and compiling for the source engine ?

as for weapons, follow this but instead use studiocompiler.

second one is max, but the general idea should be same.

This'll work for props aswell, right?
This'll work for props aswell, right?
not a clue, haven't tried doing normal props.

not completely satisfied with the new vest, but i thought it was good enough to post here as a wip
This'll work for props aswell, right?
if your prop is under 1400 tris you can get away with using the importer to compile for you.
otherwise just compile the old school way. follow his old tut.
ok, one final question, does my prop need a bone assigned to it, or will compiling it automatically add one?
If your prop isn't rigged to any bones, the compiler creates one for you, for props and stuff. If you're doing it through the in-game compiler though, not sure if it'll like it having no bones.
no, it won't. i think if you are just compiling manually, the origin will just become root_transform though.

one brand name making everything isn't "fitting the universe" it's being uninspired
If it were a spy gadget that wasn't supposed to be disguised, that's a different story.
I honestly don't know how to texture it; I'm leaving that to the texturer (any volunteers?)
I honestly don't know how to texture it; I'm leaving that to the texturer (any volunteers?)
i don't think there are any texturers here or their really busy with their own projects.
Buddy, this place is full of texture artists.
no, it won't. i think if you are just compiling manually, the origin will just become root_transform though.
I'm fairly sure if you use $staticprop as a qc command, the compiler creates a root bone called static_prop for your model (and removes all other bones).
I'm not sure what happens if you have no bones and compile a dynamic prop, although it's always worked for me in hammer so...

Dude, this is the emporium. You sure you're feeling 100% mentally today?
I'm positive there are plenty of people who are available to do texturing, especially with the recent conclusion of the arms race competition.
