People model in high-poly then bake the AO/do the normals then go down to doing the importer friendly version of the model sometimes.

Basically I've got a model that has HWM flexes for SFM purposes, above 1400 tris so I cant rely on using the importer's FBX feature, and Im using Mayas DMX export. My shit is broken!

There are animation source files available in the SDK, but they haven't been updated since 2009.

No, they're all in uncompiled DMX format. There's no way to decompile player animations without breaking them.

You have to put the pyro_lightwarp file in materials/models/player/pyro

The three of us have been working on ours for a long time, way before this guy uploaded. Plus, none of us invented fire extinguishers. We dont own the rights to them.

two options, Upload it anyway.. Or if you have the concept displayed on a website such as Deviantart or Imgur and linked to a account with your name you could dispute it with valve and they would be forced to take it down.

Re-doing those wrenchs and i'm gonna take a shot at texturing it doesn't look that hard.
His fire extinguisher doesn't even look like ours. Theres no need for a dispute.

your UV could be much better, might wanna revisit that before proceeding any further
Also, adding onto what Ven said, don't leave so much blank space in between the unwraps. Try to fill them as much as possible.
