the metal is really too thin for such distinct edge highlights, you should tone them down or jsut add sections of highlight that look good. really even highlights rarely look, except when its on broad metal surfaces.

HEY PEOPLE THAT USE MAYA FOR FACE FLEXES. Is there anyway to combine manual flexing and wrap flexes? By that I mean I have a rigid object on the forehead of the item that I dont want to flex with the big upper expressions, but another part I DO want to flex. When I combine the unflexed rigid part with the wrap flexed part and apply THAT to the item as a blend shape it freaks the f out. (Vertices go everywhere when activating a blendshape made by this combo method.)
Is there anyway to make this happen? I made sure the Polyunite / history was deleted off the thing.

In edit mode, you'll find 4 buttons:
[B]Select[/B] selects all vertices that belong to that group.
[B]Deselect [/B]does the exact opposite. It will ONLY unselect vertices that belong to the group, so vertices outside the group stay selected when you push this button.
[B]Assign[/B] takes all selected vertices and adds them to that group.
[B]Remove [/B]takes all selected vertices and removes them from that group.
For your specific instance, you'll want to switch between bip_head and bip_neck using the select command and make sure they don't have any vertices in common. Use the Assign and Remove buttons as necessary to make sure the right vertices belong exclusively to the right groups.

Went back and completely reworked my hat, the mesh is far smoother now.
Also I decided to take a small break from working on the hat to venture into the foray of fingerless gloves.

My only real issue is that my exported model seems to be completely ignoring the temp UV Map I made for it, which is a little disconcerting. For those curious, I started by modifying the Engie's left and right hand meshes to base it off of.

The vaporization is a hardcoded effect in the engine from half-life 2 that's just recolored through additional coding, and to my knowledge cannot be altered. The rescue ranger trail effects are similar to the huntsman arrow trails I believe, which are also hardcoded.

Could you maybe make a brown version, so it doesn't alter heavy's color pallet too much? I remember people making a big stink earlier because the Hunger Force added white to where it was normally brown.
