Could do 2 bakes, one with it there, and one without it. Then merge them in photoshop and take out those dark clipping areas.

not on any of the masks pictured. the hazmat mask, winter wrap, blizzard breather etc clip uncontrollably (but also it doesn't make sense to wear goggles with those items so it's okay imo)

Fantastic job man its looking good, the only things I can suggest would be to jigglebone the shoe strings for that extra mile (it might look good it might not)
and see how that plays out and texture them up a bit, also try refining the out line of the sweaters pocket a bit more might just be me though but it looks like
the outline was drawn with a marker and see what it looks like if the orange stripes cover the seams on the shoulder too maybe.

3DS Max user here, every time I export as an SMD, the ingame compiler refuses to read that there are 2 material files. Whenever I export as an FBX, I can play with the second material but the model ends up being fuckhuge and floating away from the character model.
Anyone know how to fix this?

Never had that issue. How did you assign the materials to the model? You have an editable poly or editable mesh?

Pretty sure the ingame compiler only allows 1 material per team. It can use diffuse + alpha as a paint mask + bumpmap + spec, but they'll all use the same UV channel.

The glove extension looks like it would go under his default suit rather than over it.

If there's even the slightest chance Valve would add the styles, it's worth giving a try I reckon.
I'm not one to give up unless they slap me in the face themselves and say no.
Which is the very opposite mind you, since last I spoke to Robin, he absolutely loved the Stylish Spy.
