So I just realised that little Pete clips with the Engi when hes using the building tool. This is the only instance where it clips. For something quite small, would Valve be really strict about this?
That's barely noticeable, no engineer will have a building ready to build for more than a few seconds usually. Plus there has been way worse long term clipping in the game. Way worse.

I can see your problem right away. You're in object mode. Switch to texture mode, silly billy. :v:

Np, beginning is always difficult. I watched HellJumpers tutorial so many times that I had to bite my fist to keep myself from screaming when something didn't work. (Not that there's anything wrong with HellJumper's tutorial, it's great and informative)

I have a question to anyone that uses 3Dcoat. What advantages does it have to photoshop? Is it any good/recommended?
I'm trying to learn rigging, anyone know of a good tutorial or something? a thousand posts woo
[t]http://puu.sh/5Duun.png[/t] that's a little dissapointing, it's a custom made can model, but since cans are so basic it looks like i just reskinned the original model.
Another vote for the belt color, lads. Thanks for your input on the last one: I'm leaning between Funny, Dumb, and Useful myself.
I FINALLY FOUND IT!! [t]http://i.imgur.com/dIvvuW2.png[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/7SujapU.png[/t] The model has its own set of hair bones that the Spy doesn't have! (obviously) How was I so dumb to not notice it!! Now, is there a way to merge both set of bones, so the skeleton is the updated spy (with canteen bone and all), while still having the hair bones?
What is it exactly?
What is it exactly?
A homestuck character I think
Hello mates. I was referred to post here by a friend. I am not any sort of modeler, but I am more of the idea whore most modelers hate. I was told to post ideas here and some people may attempt them. Well, here is my current idea as a coat for the Spy. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00D11BFFE/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A24K82B7E44YJR Two ideas about the same topic. Bottom Row, most to the right. Picture Number '5'. A sort of zipped completely up jacket for the spy that would cover his face. I thought that would fit quite well to his mysteriousness. 2nd is picture number 3 of the same coat. A sort of wrapped up turtleneck coat. Not quite fond of that one. 3rd is the default, 1st image for the coat. I quite like it equally with the 1st suggestion. Please tell me if you guys would like any more suggestions from me, or if I should just shush up. Thank you, -Orioned

Not to start things off on a bad note, but linking to some pictures on Amazon isn't too much of a concept. Try drawing it on the spy to show how it would look on him. Then show us that.
I'll try my best in MS Paint. EDIT: Here is my failed concept attempt.
Hey, MS Paint concepts have gotten in TF2 before. Also, having just ideas are totally fine, but don't expect a cut of the Workshop pie. If you are interested in making concepts try using either: Inkscape OR Paint.Net (both free) I would recommend Gimp, but I can hardly use it myself. Also use [t] [/ t] (no space) for big images instead of [img][/img] or resize the image yourself.

could use a good rigger for this
I know you guys don't like memes, but this is too stupid for me to give up on. Would it be possible to do modding stuff to the spy's face so he constantly has it open so I can cram a bunch of cigarettes into it? I want to play the game like this for the rest of my life.

oh neat. Thank you. WHEN CAN I EXPECT THIS TO BE AN INGAME ITEM?
Is there any paint tutorial for items? The old fashioned way, the one that the black watch in uses in particular. I know there's two different ways, and i tried figuring them both out through blunt force, which didn't work out too well. I tried scrounging around but couldn't find anything

I tried scrounging around but couldn't find anything
I posted this literally less than 12 hours ago in this very thread.
There are two ways to apply paint - the additive and multiplicative way. It looks like you're trying to do a mixture of both, which is why it's all wonky. The additive way: Put your AO bake in the alpha layer, set blend tint over base to 1, and set the color tint base to the color you want the paintable area to be by default. The multiplicative way: Have your AO bake in the diffuse like you usually would, but do not color it - leave it completely white. Your alpha channel should have all white on the paintable spots and all black in the non-paintable spots. Leave blend tint color over base at 0. The additive method colors your paintable areas with the color tint base value by default, then replaces it with the paint value when applied. The multiplicative method just slaps paint on top of the texture, which is why you want to leave the diffuse white with just the AO bake. White paint doesn't do anything with the multiplicative method. For the record, most items in the game use additive paint. I believe the voodoo juju is one that uses multiplicative.
