[t]http://i.imgur.com/6Vu9OZE.png[/t] Iced tea on red team, lemonade on blu team. I can't get the ice cubes to look right, they're too transparent.
Aww. The Filamental and the Corpsemopolitan had a baby.
I had an idea for a skin to the MVM cash Animate the burnt parts on it so then it would look more like fire
I have a better idea. Make it so that, instead of money, their various different sized pellets (depending on the amount gained), and every time you pick one up, it goes "Wakka"...
i need some help recompiling viewmodels ( i replaced bison and mangler smds with one from a mod) [t]http://puu.sh/8ajUP.png[/t] but when ingame, all animations break and do this [t]http://puu.sh/8ajVP.jpg[/t] anybody have experience with recompiling viewmodels?
so everytime someone post an Concept and it get claimed it get sniped, but i love to see how creative people get ...
i usually leave concepts for viewing even when claimed, the guy asked me to snip it however, so i did.
you cant really do this, because demoman's vest isn't body-grouped and cannot be opened.
Floaty buttons so you can see more of the collar. [t]http://i.imgur.com/69bWpnT.png[/t] I tried playing around with it, seems possible to me to fake an opening and under-tunic. However, with tri limits you will have to sacrifice much of the trim and maybe side connections (to create a seamless vest). I'm not sure what your sleeves are running, but without optimization I was at 400 tris and still needs topography to cover the inside. I could probably knock in half, but this was just a rough.
There are some parts of the paintover that aren't 100% realistic, but it does give me some potential ideas to work with as an alternative to the triangles. Though it cannot be opened, I technically could model an opened vest on top of the closed one. The largest difficulty I've had with getting that center part to look good is the fact that his entire torso pivots right between two bones there. This means that anything in that area is contorted pretty bad, and the odd placement of the triangles were an attempt to mitigate the contortion. I'll play around with the mesh, rigging, and texture to see if I can find an improvement to its current state. The general consensus appears to be to salvage the middle part, so I'll see what I can do with it this evening.
I ran into a lot of similar issues with the engineer rig and trying to get details to work around the mid section. The strange center line / button details would probably be best left out. Could work something interesting around the collar area and also a sash. Definitely a sash =). To imply a vest over a sash wouldn't look bad with mid section twisting. Best of luck! So, just reworked my medigun model, however I'd like to know if I should get rid of the metal band over the connecting neck (in addition to some other stuff I still missed): http://p3d.in/7Y4z6 - Band Version Agree http://p3d.in/dDzNy - Bandless Version Disagree
someone wanted to see more of my concepts and since i'm wrapping up my wrenches and moving onto pistols. i through i'd start with this. [t]http://i.imgur.com/u7Qx9TH.png[/t]
it looks like something the engineer would use that better be an engineer pistol
i'd say a all class pistol
i'd say a all class pistol
I Really want to see the Heavy Version of it
do you get what I mean now?
not in the slightest, but if your hinting at that the engineer needs more pistols well.. it does say 1# on the concept implying there might be more! probably nine more.

Just letting you guys know that I've moved my retro stuff into a thread and won't be posting this thread anymore. :3 http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1385661

Seeing backpack items for the Pyro makes me realize how strong he must be. A person in an asbestos lined suit carrying a very large flamethrower while also heaving around an oven? Now that's impressive!
i'd say a all class pistol
Wont be possible. It's like you don't even know how tf2 works.
i'd say a all class pistol
you have a very loose understanding of a wide array of things for this game
Good luck getting that thing rigged properly.
All it seems to need to use is the forearm bone. i made the elbow piece so as to fit the arm in a gap. oh. first person. right. shit.
All it seems to need to use is the forearm bone. i made the elbow piece so as to fit the arm in a gap. oh. first person. right. shit.
It requires two bones, both in the same place: bip_lowerArm_R and arm_attach_R The hierarchy should go like this:
bip_lowerArm_R | arm_attach_R | geometry
arm_attach_R is a child of bip_lowerArm_R, and all geometry is skinned to arm_attach_R. Now the key is that each bone has a different orientation. bip_lowerArm_R should have Y down and X pointing down the length of the model. This is the bone used to attach the model in third person. arm_attach_R should have Z down and Y pointing down the length of the model. This is the bone used to attach the model in first person.
oo I didn't know this
So I tried a wide array of things, including the buttoned undershirt Timberman suggested (it looked bizarre with how much his vest juts out). Ultimately I ended up with this: : Looks workshop quality to me! : Not quite there yet. Keep trying!
It's a start, but there's something off about it, I think the slanted line on his vest gives it the illusion that it's coming out further than the rest of the vest. Otherwise it looks great, I like the look of the thin inner sash, it really brings it all together. If you can figure out a way to give it the appearance as if the vest is larger than the "inside", I think it'd be perfect.
