it would look like less of a gumdrop if you took a sample from the various rock models and textures from the game. in fact there is literally a lump of coal model in the game. you can find it in the model browser for SFM/hlmv/hammer whatever you use. add color variation, possibly various splotches or scratches onto the coal texture. while you're at it change the coal model so it isnt so smooth near the top, make it more jagged. like a piece of rock that was just mined out of the ground. and of course turn on the phong and rim. it's a style requirement. if it's on already then i can't see it in the screenshots

Hey everyone I'm failing at things again. I decided to (re)make a Demoman sledgehammer and I'm using the item importer to compile it. When I preview it in the importer, it looks ok, but when I view it in HLMV the texture and lighting is all messed up. [IMG]http://imageshack.us/a/img856/7868/rl9j.png[/IMG]
Don't use the item importer for that. It really doesn't produce workable output for valve, what with the missing physics model and it being stuck in the /workshop/player/items folder rather than /weapons/

Woot! Finished texturing the pine cones, any suggestion? I don't like how the bottom of the matches look Also, any good phong and such values for the VMT so they look more liek wood (with those little tips being a bit shiny) and not plastic? I have been trying but the results were meh Are their size and position ok?
