I'm trying doing a backpack icon, and the image is between those 512x328,leaving the borders completely empty. The alpha channel has those borders being pure dark, while the middle is pure white. The image has transparent background, of course, just the item is in the layer. Still I get an error. Does anyone know how to fix this?
have the whole alpha, besides the shape of the item, be black, not just the borders. also have the whole diffuse, besides the item, be black, not transparent. thats how i do mine.
Question for you guys. In order to use the importer tool, do i need to export my model as a dmx and place it in the right folder? Or do i just need to ensure the qc. that's in my source_sdk_content/tf/models/workshop/player/item/pyro/"hat name" points to the right smd. Note: The above qc. is currently pointing to a non existent dmx. Note: this is the last error that's stopping me from submitting my (Munchy approved) hat, so any help is wonderful <3 Also, i'm a doughnut now :downs:
have the whole alpha, besides the shape of the item, be black, not just the borders. also have the whole diffuse, besides the item, be black, not transparent. thats how i do mine.
I haven't touched Photoshop in a while. What's the diffuse? Now I have a layer with the item image, and leaving the rest transparent. How I turn the whole diffuse black?
I haven't touched Photoshop in a while. What's the diffuse? Now I have a layer with the item image, and leaving the rest transparent. How I turn the whole diffuse black?
diffuse is just the regular texture. if you have one layer thats just your item, put it over a layer thats pure black, so it looks like your item is surrounded by black

I still get that problem
-would you kindly pretend I didn't post anything here-
Made the alpha completely black (0000) and also a layer under the main layer with the item in (didn`t merge them though). I still get that problem
basically make your diffuse like this and your alpha like this
hello Brother:
I would literally buy that if it wasn't just a concept, and in game. I want to be Woodkid.

Got it like that too, and all sizes are correct. Still error. This is not my lucky day
Got it like that too, and all sizes are correct. Still error. This is not my lucky day
In the top layer of your image, do you have a 512x92 pixel black bar on the top and bottom of the image? For whatever reason it needs to be there even if the whole background is black.
Got it like that too, and all sizes are correct. Still error. This is not my lucky day
what does the error say?

I wasn't merging the black background and the image because I thought that is done when saving as TGA or something, silly me. As I merged them it worked wonders. Many thanks guys!
How do you call when you make materials out of the model? And is there a tutorial on Blender on how to do it?
How do you call when you make materials out of the model? And is there a tutorial on Blender on how to do it?
Baking the AO bake, I guess that's what you wanna do. Yep, search for those (even on Youtube)
How do you call when you make materials out of the model? And is there a tutorial on Blender on how to do it?
Do you mean Texture Bake? If so then there's a bake section in the Render Panel. You choose what sort of bake you want and then press bake. For it to work though, you need to have unwrapped your mesh and created a new image in the UV/IMAGE editor with your unwrap ontop. There's a load of tutorials online aswell, just search around on youtube and you'll be fine :) If you don't mean bake then :suicide:
Before I continue with this, someone please tell me if anyone's done anything like this before (extending the demoman's default cap into a wooly pompom hat). I'm so tired and can't differentiate "oh that's a good idea i thought of" with "oh yeah x did this and it was a good idea".
I was messing around with making every single upper body bone a jigglebone, and this happened
Actually jigglebones don't seem to work on playermodels ingame, as far as I'm aware of. It's been attempted by making the legs on scout jiggleboned, and NoKnees McScout was born, with stiff legs. I might be mistaken though.
i assume there's no chance of it getting in
Why would that ever stop you from making something?
