bit of a late response, but if your model isn't triangulated that's probably why. if it doesn't use animations/flexes and you don't wanna triangulate it then export it as a .smd
note: i use blender so this may not be entirely accurate

Anyone know the proper way to skin things on arms? As soon as I biff it into the importer, it seems to go all skewed and bent. For example, simply parenting the whole thing to bip_upperArm turns the whole thing by 90deg. I'm using the SMD from the SDK to skin things if that's any useful info.

Those are outdated and at some point Valve changed the orientation of the arm bones. You'll have to either get Joe's decompiled player models or decompile them yourself and use those instead.

There is a lot going on here. I like the tubes (though I'm worried that the Vaccinator has covered this somewhat) and I also like the buttons/screen on top (which has not been hit).
The end of the medigun is unique and menacing, though, I like that part 100%.

Whilst having no specific theme or reference, I've thought it up as a device that could dispense the uber liquid stuff as a sort of gas or mist.

Update of the update of the original mod.
Has attachments for Killsheens, but haven't tested since I don't own any Spy killstreak weapons at the moment.
Fixed the head (normal and zombie) ubercharge textures so they use the TIP VMTs.
I used a bad version of his ragdoll by mistake, now it shouldn't be as bad.
He should also squint like the default Spy.
His head VMTs has been fixed to include the Jarate overlay (I accidentally packed an outdated version last time).
I also separated the Red and Blu versions of the head texture which wasn't originally in the original release.
The streaking under his eyes hasn't been fixed because I am bad at textures.[/QUOTE]
Having an odd issue with this. Belgian Detective, the bolted football helmet, and some other hats show up fine in loadout menu, but become a badly-positioned white Mann Co hat in-game.
Pupils also aren't showing up, but I think that's just a mod conflict, since that happened with a similar Sniper mod.

The scarf is paintable and uses [U]flexes[/U] which has a greate effect when the heavy is talking
