The set ones were 2 rec + a weapon.
That was to compensate for the lack of a hat needed for the set bonus.
Just like Crit-a-Cola
CaC was actually in the hat drop rate, so they did drop, just rarely. And this was fixed.

Wait... why do the Heavy and Demoman both live in mansions, while the Scout lives in an apartment?
No, but I don't wanna spend 2 refineds on a weapon
I can see it, first the item will be added to the store and crates, one week later they will add it to the drop system and crafting
Are you serious? You'd rather spend two refineds on a hat than items which actually affect your gameplay? :raise:

You could have asked the same about the Soldier in December of 2009.

Well, the most "expensive" weapons requires 2 reclaimeds, 2 refineds would be too much for a weapon

"Are you frickin kidding me? Another tie-in. My apartment's filled with all the crap from the last one!"
Hint that this might be one of the last tie-ins.

Well, I think it's reasonable - valve is making it so, that you will need to use your precious reclaimeds / refines for weapons, instead of fancy pancy hats. :v:

Thats just a eyelander reskin, you can use the eyelander, and I'm talking about the other weapons

Nope, is not, Weapons must be accesible, because they have stats

They are accesible if they're craftable? :raise:

Accesible in the way of not requiring a fuckton of metal
Accesible in the way of not requiring a fuckton of metal
No pain, no gain, right? I mean, yeah, sure you want all the fancy good items, but you can't get them just like that.
Urgh
let's see, a Weapon changes gameplay, it must be easy to craft (and getting refined takes some time), hats don't change gameplay, thats why you need 3 refiends to craft them, what is so ahrd to understant?

If you want good weapons, you have to do absolutely no work for them? You still do get items just by standing around in a room, right? :buddy:
It's not like all the weapons are a must if they have stats, you'll get them in time if you have the will to contiune playing.
Also, it seems that you love rating people, for some weird twisted reason, not that I really care :c00lbert:

That would be the case if many of the newer items (for example, the fists of steel) weren't horrendously overpowered.
That would be the case if many of the newer items (for example, the fists of steel) weren't horrendously overpowered.
Well, I agree, there's a few weapons which are a bit ''overpowered'' but I still think that you'll be able of finding those certain items, or making a strategy with your normal weapons, they aren't all that useless you know.
That would be the case if many of the newer items (for example, the fists of steel) weren't horrendously overpowered.
The fists of steel cost two scrap. What other new items do you think are overpowered?
They are accesible if they're craftable? :raise:
"Hey guys, the blueprint for the new guns will be six refined, three elf tears and your most-used hat.
It's accesible because it's craftable!
-Love, Robin."
Don't be whiny babies, they're class weapons, they'll be included in the melee weapon blueprint, and maybe a dedicated blueprint. We're talking around a reclaimed a weapon. (Yeah yeah multiplied the amount of weapons that can come out from the blueprint divided your horribly bad luck.)
Oh for fuck sake Valve, more freaking shi--oh my GOD what is this beautiful thing?
Has the blueprint still not been revealed?

Wait a minute...
Demo has a mansion...
Soldier lives in an apartment.
So there was a Soldier/Demo update.
And the Heavy lives in a mansion...
And the Scout lives in an apartment.
HOLY SHIT HEAVY VS. SCOUT UPDATE

brace yourselves. Football vs. Baseball to tie in with the superbowl!
Superbowl's been over for days.
Anyway, note how they say craft but don't mention dropping. I doubt they'll drop.
I think they'll drop eventually, if not immediately.
So apparently, Valve didn't even port, or make the models. And neither did the Rift team. They're community-made items.

Um. Nice leaping to conclusion there doc.
Has it not occured to you that these three might be Trion employees, and the people responsible for the items?
