Something i'm currently modeling, if someone would like to help me animate it and turn it into a weapon when i'm finished that'd be great because i have little knowledge of how to do that, i think the current bow animation would work with it anyway. Not great at concept btw, this was originally intended to be just for my eyes anyway. Um... Why did Valve change the remaining good v_models into c_models?....
http://tf2.gamebanana.com/skins/73926
That's just confirmed the animations will look right, but the design is more professional than the traditional old-school slingshot such as the one linked. Plus making it gives me a motive to learn more about weapons than just making cosmetics all the time.
[t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/31418078/Capture.PNG[/t] Can anyone help me with the hat? It fits alright in Blender, and other hats work fine, yet in-game, this hat appears like this.
I'm guessing that you 1. have the wrong up axis defined when you compile it, that will cause it to rotate 90 degrees, and 2. that you have some translations on the head bone, so the game applies those when attaching head. Check to make sure the bone's translates are 0 0 0
I'd like to ask something... Is modeling hard? I mean, i have some ideas, but never actually thought of making them, because i was told it is hard.
yes, it is very hard, but nothing worthwhile is really easy, right?
yes, it is very hard, but nothing worthwhile is really easy, right?
It, like most things, is only hard till you get the hang of it. Learning curves!
Progress on non moving parts because i have no idea how to make the movable rubber as of yet.
Which version of Maya is the best one for TF2 stuff?
The Texan Wheeze. It's a harmonica init. The colour scheme sort of blends in too much with the Engi, anyone got any ideas for alternative schemes? Harmonica itself is painted Value of Teamwork.
Oh man I just imagined it working like the bootie time and jingle belt's "jingle all the way" attribute Instead, you hear a random harmonica note every time you step
Which version of Maya is the best one for TF2 stuff?
2013 Valve have some maya export plugins in some steam folders for this version

Maybe make the t-shirt and shirt into just a shirt (unless it's just the bake making it seem like it's two seperate things) and a folded down collar on the coat.
I have a problem, I recently uninstalled the improved kill icons mod to save some space, and now every kill icon is the purple checkerboard. Is there something else I need to do?
validate files, should re-download the missing ones
Didn't work.
Didn't work.
Find out which file it replaced delete that then validate, steam should note it's missing and re download it.
Try drawing from the metal and team colours on the Gunslinger:
That's better, makes the red pop out a bit more. Thanks for the suggestion.

Try renaming your custom folder to something like custom_ or custom2 and see if you get the same issue.

Came to heavy in my bodygroups thing and it makes me wonder if I should include the head at all. These are to be used along side shugos heads, but I guess one may need the flesh heads. But with no flexes at least heavy goes a bit derp with his eyes. I mean, heavy is done otherwise, but the eyes yo. Now while I did mess with the eyes cause I found it funny, its not too different from normal. His eyes are just too open. tl:dr leave derp heads, or just leave heads up to shugo heads? I think I may just make the eyes doll. Dont really need the iris at all with the intended use being for body items.
its very noisy for how small it is, i would just give it literally flat colors with an ao
Mind if I add you on Steam?
Like everything, it's difficult and confusing when you first start. It takes a lot of practice, but it's not "Hard" once you get the hang of it, per' say. Complicated, tedious, occasionally frustrating and time consuming, yes, but not really difficult after some practice.
Thanks for fair answer, but that's the problem. I just can't sit down and do stuff. Everything starts to distract me. I just don't know what to do about this little problem.
Oh god that made it worse. It went from derp to demonic.

You could try making a taunt animation to go with the item in case taunts are enabled on the workshop anytime soon.
You could try making a taunt animation to go with the item in case taunts are enabled on the workshop anytime soon.
That would be a pretty bad idea, since not everyone will own the item.
You could try making a taunt animation to go with the item in case taunts are enabled on the workshop anytime soon.
Don't have the skills to animate well (read: at all) unfortunately either. :v:
