was screwing around with some stuff: space suit, with a holographic plume. Was debating maybe a visor over his eyes as another item.
The holo-plume feels unnecessary (I thought it was a holo-ponytail at first), but other then that it looks good.
I'd like to see a surfboard using JZeeba's model and Gibblemeister's texture. The half surfboard is a lot more interesting and the size fits a lot better, while Gibble's texture looks more surfboard-ey and less bonk cliche-ey.
outlandish concept commissioned too me by Merczy. some sort of space demoknight, the weps will be doen soon enough: also, The Big Kahuna, claimed by sparkwire and badgerpig:
read my post. I never asked about the rubber earpieces, I asked about what should be paintable.
The only way the rubber earpieces can be justified is if they're paintable, then their color comes from vmts instead of vtfs. But even then it's a waste so make like the hair paintable also I suppose. Although, that would use up both of your materials so you couldn't make nice lenses
That looks more like Demo-Raiden Which frankly, I'm okay with
jaw piece is based off of raidens stuff at merczy's request.

Well anyone have Ideas they would like to see drawn up? I'm doing commissions, so just add me on steam and we'll discuss how the idea shall be drawn up.
Hi everyone! I'm new here to Facepunch, and sort of new to modeling in general. I've had some experience with 3D modeling, having toyed very lightly in Blender and taken a college class with Cinema 4D, but overall I haven't done much in the field. Over the past winter I was working on making my first hat in Blender, a fedora for the engineer, while following HellJumpers Blender tutorial, but I stopped working on it once the spring school semester started back up. Now that I've returned to the hat, I've realized that it's almost done, but I have a problem that I'm not quite sure how to fix. I hope it won't be too difficult to remedy, but since I'm still very new to Blender I was hoping to find some help here. As you can see by these screenshots, here is the top view of my hat in Model/Texture view: Overall it looks great. I've even previewed it in the TF2 Workshop submitter and it looks great from above. However: This isn't so nice. Both in Blender and the workshop preview, the underside of the fedora's rim is invisible. I talked about this briefly to a friend of mine who worked with Blender in the past, and he said something about there only being one side to the shape, or something like that. In any case, I feel fairly clueless on how to fix this problem. Can anyone help me with this? If you need anymore information just let me know and I'll try to get it to you!

To remedy it, you need to make more faces on the bottom, but have them facing opposite. Think of it as a one way mirror. the back of it is just cardboard. but two mirrors back to back and it's now a mirror on both sides
That looks more like Demo-Raiden Which frankly, I'm okay with
whenever someone says raiden im more inclined to think of mortal kombat than metal gear, so i had no clue what you were talking about until i looked it up

Regarding the Bonk logo. I was aiming for a more retro look with the texture, but it felt a bit empty so that's why I added it. This past week I've been working on the texture and this is what I have so far: [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/21260807/TF2/Scout_SurfBoard_07.png[/t] All that said... the long surfboard is open for texturing if anyone would like to give it a try. And hmmm yeah I agree I should make the teeth marks more cartoony/jagged...

One more Retro-futuristic, and the other more sci-fi. Both are going to be made, but changes will be given to one to seem less like the other. the new version of the first:

I figured the white dot was just a problem with HLMV but now I'm not so sure.
I know it's supposed to be polygonal, but...
Looks fantastic, though I'd probably do something about the 'barrel' pindrop thingy that sticks out the front. The emitter or whatever you want to call it. Whilst it fits the style of the retro-futuristic theme, it looks extremely brittle and fragile just poking out like that when the rest of the gun is comparatively bulky and industrial. It looks like it'd easily snap off or become broken if you were to accidentally drop the gun. Perhaps give it a supporting L-bracket underneath? Make the whole 'emitter' a bit bigger? Could even be an bulky C-shaped bracket, like a Karabiner buckle. Think of the 'blade' section of the Third-Degree. Just my thoughts.
Thanks for the suggestion. I think I'll try to get some ref about laser canon in TF2 universe. If I'm not mistaken there is one in Gravelpit. I also like the C shaped bracket thing. I will give a try :3
here it is now rendered
