My problem is you have to watch an ad before most downloads so they're straight up profiting off of anothers work. [editline]11th May 2014[/editline]
I don't get why they can't just ask for permission to redistribute, surely then it'd sorta be okay.
because that takes moral and effort, and if they say no you won't be able to upload that super cool mod. that justifies doing it without permission perfectly
Time to take a break from my current project and model for tf2 again. Hail Darkseid! [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/48795891/hail_darkseid.png[/t] Would it be possible to duplicate the heavy's head, scale along the normals just enough to keep it from clipping with the original head, and apply his flexes to the scaled duplicate so that I wouldn't have to re-flex the face my self? Basically what I want is to re-texture the head to have a more Darkseid like look, without changing the base texture itself.
Yeah, those Gamebananna guys have taken the Mapping resource pack made by Boojum Snark off TF2maps.net too though it explictily states not to redistribute it
I call a vote we just start tagging every mod release with "Please do not redistribute without contacting the creator" and see what happens
TF2 Emporium 59: UV unwrap penis edition It's not funny anymore.
Doing a Blood Banker-exclusive model for the mod version of the Modern Mastermind. Svdl, if you see this; I can take this down and scrap it if you want.

OP has been updated with new mods, I'm away during the week and don't have access, my apologies. If I missed anything do reply or send me a pm, if you would like to send an angry letter be sure to pm me, if you would like to confess your secret relationship with a digital wardrobe that's fine too.
I call a vote we just start tagging every mod release with "Please do not redistribute without contacting the creator" and see what happens
No that's not a solution, I have been bitching over GB since it was an admin actually doing respost without permission from the original authors. The solution is to make the GB admins/mods and users understand that they should have a rule stating that if you want to redistribute someone else's work you should first ask the author(s) for their permission (unless its an item that's already ingame or so, then its different). There's an admin of GB reposting these mods without permission in GB and why he did it is questionable, as others have pointed out, its pretty clear he's trying to drive traffic to GB by reposting these mods and perhaps to generate more revenue through those ads. That's not really what bugs me, its only and simply the fact that its an Admin doing that and therefore other users taking the liberty and a defensive attitude at allowing themselves to do such things, while it seems pretty common sense to ask permission to repost someone else's work for this type of content. I think that if the GB admins feel like they need to drive more traffic to their website, that's not the way to go, they should probably worry more about reworking the terrible/outdated/cluttered web design, rules and submission forms. I have never been a fan of GB web design, some users, rules and some of the mods posted there. I was only posting mods/tools still there so more people can get access to them, but now I am not going to post there anymore seeing what that admin did and how the other admins/mods tolerate it and other users take it for granted.
when I unwrapped the sash the tail became this *childish sniggering*
This is like the 4th time someone posted about this
snip
Has anyone contacted Valve about this? I feel like they could help. Then again they don't own the website.
Has anyone contacted Valve about this? I feel like they could help. Then again they don't own the website.
Valve has nothing to do with this, releasing your own workshop items as mods and whatever is done with those is not Valve's business, that'd be like asking the police to help you because a seagull stole your icecream.
I'm here for my yearly hello Hello If anyone here recognises this faintly, and you think you're going mad, don't worry: This is literally a project I've forgotten about twice and posted at least 3 times in this thread. This is because I'm shockingly low on dedication to TF2 stuff, and I'm embarrassingly easy to sidetrack. To be honest I have no idea how I stuck with it this time. I know this is asked at the very least once a day in this thread, but does anyone have some advice for didgeridoo patterns? Here's my current favorite: [IMG]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/37546036/TheDiamondsRepresentOrangeDiamonds.png[/IMG] I don't want to over-do it, but have no idea what works. Or should I have anything at all? It's kind of bland otherwise. Clean but bland.
the other 3 were punchy
i was the first and only, sonny i'm OG
Long story short, decided to make these shades for Scout http://imgur.com/VJpfkyW
Long story short, decided to make these shades for Scout http://imgur.com/VJpfkyW
Hi hello, you gotta use the [t] tag on images, not . And make sure your link ends with .jpg. Also, I think the bottom part of the shades bend too much outwards.
Will try and fix the bending

Ok, been trying to get an answer at the general discussion with no answer and I don't know where exactly to ask this but here goes
Question: Is there code, a mod, plugin or such that allows, on the client side, to have different models for classes for each team? Such as fempyro on Blu and Muscle Pyro on Red? Closest I've found would be the command "mp_usehwmmodels" which changes between he SFM HQ quality of the class models
Just a little question I have here, if I have a few mods I'd like to release that don't really have anything related to TF2, am I allowed to? Or is the Emporium mainly for mods that keep in the TF2 art style? Reason I ask is because this whole GameBanana issue has made me not really want to release mods there anymore, and mostly just release them on Tf2mods.
Ok, been trying to get an answer at the general discussion with no answer and I don't know where exactly to ask this but here goes
I think the answer is somewhere in this emporium but it might be in the last one
the tf2 emporium is for tf2 mods, I don't recommend posting counter-strike mods here
I think he's talking about TF2 mods that don't follow the artstyle. Pretty much anything is okay to post here as long as it replaces something in TF2.
