I don't see any issue in making a custom prop for a taunt. Valve showcased a bunch of taunts that use custom assets such and the engineer chair, soldier's whoopass taunt, and the bucket of chicken.
Since their isn't an importer for taunts (yet?) their really isn't any restriction in what anyone can do for taunts. Plus I can't imagine valve not accepting a taunt because custom assets, infact they'd probably be more up to add it.

Nah I agree, a custom model of a book that opens would be fine, but I just think that using the scale tool in sfm would mess up in compiling for it ingame. I mean, someone could make a model of the spellbook in a smaller size as its own model and that would work.
It's just that I dont have one, so I cant really work with anything to make the taunt right now.

has anyone ever experienced issues with the gold star importer where an item on a single class compiles fine, but if you try and compile it for multiple classes it gives an error? I'm getting that right now.
If I preview my item on just sniper, it works. If I preview it on just Scout, it works. If I try and preview it for both, it throws an error.

Hey guys, got a bit of an issue here. Trying to make facial flexes for my halloween item, but the eyelids keep clipping through the mask.
The flex pack I'm using has a "closeLidLo" and "closeLidUp", but in the HLMV it lists them as "left_closelid" and "right_closelid". Anyone know how to fix this? I'm using Max 2012 if that's any help

I actually like the Tron Fortress stuff. They may be spam to most people, but they're actually pretty well made, and reskinning the entirety of TF2 is no easy task.

The cord is too small an object to add that striping to, in my opinion. It just makes it more visually cluttered, which doesn't mesh with the overall art style well.

Something to go along with this, with the advent of partner taunts, I think TF2 could really do for a Secret Handshake taunt. Sorta like this:
