But that's sorta why I don't like it. The pocket pyro and this pipe are based off things that already exist in the game and have a a set color scheme. You'd never see a pyro like that because there are none in that color, same for pipes.

Is that just me or Valve screwed up Demoman's model in Love and War update? I'm asking because the "Smiley" does not appear anymore while taunting with Grenade Launcher/Pain Train/Scotsman's Skullcutter.

yes they did
same thing happened with soldier, the 'rocket' bodygroup does not appear sometimes when he's reloading or doing the juggle taunt

I didn't say every item needs to be paintable... But I still think this one should be and no valid case has been presented for it not to be.

I decompiled the model of the butterfly knife, modeled and textured my model then exported it, but with the itemtest map I can see this is actually on his head or in his back, any suggestion for improving that please ? :(

What? yes you do, he has yellow ones on his chest and the uncharged ones you load are gray...
plus having it paintable saves you from having to use two separate textures as you can use the paint to apply the team colors.
I really don't see how paint on this would hurt the item in any way.

it's a really silly idea anyway and you've already crossed the point where any logic would apply to it so just make it paintable
for future reference I would try to avoid making items that have no substance outside a silly pun in the first place though

Does the importer window mess up facial flexes? When I tested it by using the laugh taunt the flexes didn't rest and the pipe stayed int he demo's chin, but in HLMV they seem to work fine.

Oh sorry I forgot, well I use 3dsmax 2014 with Crowbar and Wallworm tool.
I decompiled the butterfly knife model for the weapon_bone (my knife is parent with it, but it's a w_model so maybe ... ?) and I used the kunai as a reference because the butterfly model is looking weird in the viewport (since it import the arm bone ... yes w_model)
I am sure I'm missing something but I tried all the day and i'm tired of launching TF2 just to see that the knife is no more in front of me but below me, above my head or in my back ... :(

Importer doesn't display flexes, you'll have to load the item in HLMV.

Ah okay good to know. I was confused why they worked fine in HLMV but got stuck in the Demo's chin in the preview.
