I think some sort of slimming design on the coat (vertical/diagonal brown sections) would do well to keep it from making Sniper look out of shape. He's looking chubbier atm.
Those arm bands don't necessarily look bad, but I think they'd be better as a stripe and logo on the sleeve itself, closer to the shoulders.

Texturing the design on would be ugly, would look less detailed and messy. On another note, the armbands were originally much higher up the arm, but because valve didn't make the player-models with proper t-poses, it makes armbands and the like much harder to do properly.

This is for an inverse kinematics rig, the same concept applies with third person animations.
The way this video demonstrates is non-destructive, meaning that the original bones are not modified, they only copy the positions of the real IK rig, so you can export the animations normally.
