Guys its July yo.
A little over 3 months to make Halloween items and be within the safe-zone when it comes to finishing them. 3 months gives you a lot of time to make a lot of items. Start early, make a bunch, get a bunch accepted. With less time, you'd have a quantity over quality problem, but with 3 months of preparation, you can have both quantity and quality. Scream Fortress 2013 added over a hundred cosmetics, and even though they're restricted, they're still a lot of fun to make. They have almost full creative freedom to them because of their restrictions, and can have some of the best work put into them - like the bird heads and the Second Opinion getting their own voice lines.
with due respect to everyone's work, only a handful of these managed to be relevant/interesting. here's hope to see people really put more effort into their sets.

Some items are obviously over the top, but other items I just don't see why they even bother restricting. That simply means the content can really be extreme/out there and everyone will get equal treatment when included, The reason the older ones ect can be worn all year. is that'd be sort of unfair/create drama if valve went back on and restricted all of those too.
Im thinking of drawing up 2 concepts tomorow, both balloon related. See ya all tomorrow
i meant to say jizz-beards but censoring got the best of me also not everything needs to be paintable plus a lot of the honey is painted onto the beard.
try typing 'semen-beards', that might work
i meant to say jizz-beards but censoring got the best of me also not everything needs to be paintable plus a lot of the honey is painted onto the beard.
I dunno, I like paintable beard hair, otherwise most beards have trouble matching the many hues of brown that they use for tf2 hair.
the back will have some sort of team colored extermination company logo so people don't complain about gameplay issues.
Valve doesn't seem to like things like logos on the backs of shirts and jackets and whatnot.
the pinup art doesn't necessarily look too good on that though then again i'm not a fan of the dogfighter in general so
I'm certain you can find at least one person to say that any given detail of any given item "doesn't necessarily look too good", or that they're "not a fan" of the item, though. It's well executed artwork, technically speaking, and it fits the theme of a WWII bomber jacket to a T. I just don't see what's to object to about it. It's cool if you don't like the item in general or the pinup art in particular, but that alone isn't enough to nix an otherwise justifiable aspect of the design. There are plenty of miscs I don't care for, but I understand that having them floating around in game is just the proverbial cost of doing business. I don't mind if some weirdo spy runs around with a lime Max's Head, a pink Doublecross-Comm, and a pure black Distinguished Rogue, because by the same token I'm allowed to wear the things that I like, whatever those might be. The only thing I could think of is that someone might take offense at the fact that they're pinups, but they're incredibly tame as far as pinups go. And in contrast it's leagues better than the Conscientious Objector, which can easily be customized with really horrible content with no limitations except private server rules of conduct; or things like named weapons with offensive and insulting language; et cetera. But you know what would fix that? Leveling the playing field, so to speak. Anyone here play Spelunky? You know how there are the Damsels in Distress that you can rescue to gain lives? Ever notice that in the options menu, you can change their appearance if you like? In addition to the standard Curvy Blonde Woman In A Red Dress, there's also the option of a Hunky Blonde Man In A Red Speedo, and (for those who want to remove sexualization from the equation entirely and/or furries) there's also a Derpy Faced Pug Dog that you can rescue instead. Female pinups on a vintage bomber jacket are misogynistic? Give us a style option with hunky male pinups for those who want it! (And a quick google search for things like "Medic x Scout" or "Sniper x Spy" proves that some people want it!) And give us a style option with a plain, unadorned jacket back for those who don't want pinup art at all!
they accept logos just fine, even in the post-gold-star era http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Bolshevik_Biker i think the key is to gel well with the existing art style. the example here may not be close but the pinup is arguably even further. that said, i think an exterminator logo wouldn't help with the "gameplay issues" that you anticipate people whining about. the actual engie emblem may be better, even if it makes less sense. on the other hand complainers gonna complain.
