If no one's vetoed this yet, I would very much like to make this.
i have no idea what you're doing?
Neither do I. But let me explain. Layer 1 is the bake. Layer 2 is the paintbrush strokes. Layer 2 is set to multiply. To see how Layer 2 would look colored, I added an color overlay effect on Multiply. When I got to where I like it, I remove the color overlay and merge the two layers. I then tested it with color overlay on Multiply, only to find out the brush strokes don't appear. Did I clear it up or only make it worse.
-edit,nope-
You want to achieve this,or...? [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/98733953/combustable_cowl_problem.jpg[/t]
Close, I already did achieve that. What I wanted to achieve was it to be white, but when you chose the color it retains the detail, instead of it looking like a flat bake. IE, I wanted to achieve this; [t]http://i.imgur.com/fvNOR0s.png[/t] And I did, but by an unorthodox method.
IE, I wanted to achieve this; [t]http://i.imgur.com/fvNOR0s.png[/t] And I did, but by an unorthodox method.
oh ok what you do is select the lightest paintable colour using the colour picker tool, and create a new layer on top of everything (except your AO). Fill it in and set the blendmode to DIVIDE (you need at least photoshop cs5 for this) and you should get a nice white texture which is a great base for paintability. (You'll probably want to make it a bit darker and set the alpha to like 99% white instead of 100% white so that black paint looks better. You gotta mess with it and see what looks good)
Thing EDIT: Never change GameBanana [t]http://i.imgur.com/FuGqFKH.jpg[/t] Some one also posted anon asking if I could remove the pill. Dunno if that was a joke or not, but it was gone as soon as I refreshed the page.

[editline]14th May 2014[/editline] [t]http://i.imgur.com/4Tq5nUI.png[/t] I'm having fun. Now to do the arms, this will be where the fun stops. :suicide:
workin on some medieval armor for medic
Odd that knee protectors fit around the puff of his pant leg. I know that Medic doesn't have a leg bodygroup but that looks weird. I think you should make more of a solid section leading up to and attached to it if you want it to go over the knee.

Its probably just that.
draw distance you can configure it in the settings
it wasnt doing this before though. this is like uh think in the farcry 2 map creator where you have occlusion blocks its almost like that

Like, as in the TF2 paints?
no like, say the area you want to be paintable is red, right? You'd select the lightest red you can find in that part of the texture. It's kind of awkward to word.

take an easier route and make that bit of the shoulder look like another patch stiched to the suit. that way you wont have to rely on it matching perfectly the original suit and you'll give it a bit more variety. you can make the class logo stiched too if you have any spare resources.

maybe you could turn the arms into a separate item, that way you can also add more details to the legs?
maybe you could turn the arms into a separate item, that way you can also add more details to the legs?
Maybe, but that would make it four items, and kills it as a set.

Was messing with my imgur when I remembered THIS existed. 104 pictures of weapons and armour through the ages that I took whilst visiting the Leeds armouries a couple of months ago. Covers everything from swords to shotguns, knives to knights and beyond. Should be a really nice source of ideas and such. If you ever get a chance to visit the armouries by the way, I'd really recommend it. Awesome place.
