I feel some armbands like spy had in beta would look nice here. Also maybe have him as tall as engie, anything shorter than engie is arguably silly short.
Armbands just seem uneeded to me. As for his height i wanted him to be actually short, engy is only kinda short, plus if this guy is the target for assassination, having him short makes things a little less easy. Also his short stature is a good way to signal him being so harmless, the other caracters' size reflect their power a lot too. I at least what him half a head shorter than engy. Seeing how this guy is just a target with little to no way of defending himself i wanted him to look important, but wimpy and harmless, not cool, not confident, none of that. I also considered that this guy will be running for his life, and so in order to not be super fat he didn't only have to be fat but also have short legs, you may also note that the lack of a jacket is casue he'd probably get hot wearing a full suit while running in panic. I imagine him tightly gripping his umbrella while running along as best he can, sweat dripping off him, panting, asking the mercs if they're sure he'll be safe, if they really know what they're doing, being pretty paranoid, giving off high squeaks in shock whenever he thinks he see's an enemy or even worse, a spy.
I've never compiled a model myself and I really think I should have tested the spy model by now. Please, can anyone help me out, I don't know what I am doing.
Kinda reminds me of the security guard from HL:Alpha
Didn't know Don Knotts was in video games, neat
Make the payload cart him in a wagon
Probably the worst choice of a weapon for a set with a face cosmetic.
when will we see a mod release for this one?
All this tfc stuff has gotten me into a having fun mood. what do i do when im having fun? i model! =D i don't expect this to be taken seriously but i wondered what it would be like if valve made a tfc promotion. With promotions 9/10 times there is a badge of some sort. behold used the deus specs glow effect for the yellow parts of the badge. bullet dint's in the reflective metal for effect (the dints are actually modeled in). 10/10 quality XD i dunno, i just thought i would show you all =P.
You going to release that as a mod? Cause I actually want that.
apparently, what they claim to be a supported filetype is an unsupported filetype. any help?

Is the concept art any indication of how he'll be animated? I think that would come into play for size comparisons too.
Made his face a little fatter, also drew up some cosmetic sets :D
What's the goal is making this model? As a fun design project or to pitch to Valve for a custom gamemode or ?
Made his face a little fatter, also drew up some cosmetic sets :D
i would really love to see this get its own animation set, and be used in custom gamemodes such as jailbreak, and obviously, hunted mode, if valve ever adds that.
What's the goal is making this model? I much doubt valve would add any civilian gamemodes considering they ditched the concept in favour of payload. Who knows though :O
apparently, what they claim to be a supported filetype is an unsupported filetype. any help?
How big is your image? It can only be 512x512. I made that mistake the other day.
How big is your image? It can only be 512x512. I made that mistake the other day.
i think i resized it, one second. [editline]22nd May 2014[/editline] I FIGURED IT OUT the layer it was on was slightly larger than the image itself. thats gotta be it.
Didn't know Don Knotts was in video games, neat
Well, Barney's named for Barney Fife, the cop Don Knotts played on The Andy Griffith Show.
I have a good color for red team, but what color should blus glasses be? i got green as a placeholder but somethings gotta be better. i dont want to just do "lol cream spirit" so give me a hand with something interesting? the glasses are paintable. Also I'm thinking of a name. maybe the Pride cap or the Spirit cap?
[T]http://i.imgur.com/vcUUdw4.png[/T] The product of my boredom couldn't be anymore oddly done. Especially with not knowing how to correctly fix smoothing and rig something correctly. Ignore the missing feet
Blaholtzen, can you repost the link to the Class reference images you made.
hows this look?

[t]http://puu.sh/8Xf6O.jpg[/t] [t]http://puu.sh/8Xf6x.jpg[/t] Instead of flooding the page with big old headshots, im going to shrink these down to thumbnails. I decided on an amber for red and an electric lime for blu.
why so low poly? Also, why more baseball caps and sunglasses
Instead of flooding the page with big old headshots, im going to shrink these down to thumbnails. I decided on an amber for red and an electric lime for blu.
That lime doesn't fit TF2's pallete. Try a purple, sample colors from Crit A Cola maybe. I think the model itself needs to be addressed more. The glasses look kinda lumpy, and the clipping with the headset doesn't look good either. I can't tell if the stitches are modeled on or not, if they are that's very unnecessary, put those polys somewhere else where they'll make a bigger difference and show more. I think a more interesting texture for the hat would help a lot as well, right now it's just the two colors and the copy pasted logos. Go look on the workshop at other ball caps to see what they did.
shit. Already submitted it. I'll figure it out later. for now I have the submission hidden till i get shit worked out with it. enhhh and hey. its nice to be simple for once. [editline]22nd May 2014[/editline] how about jade?
shit. Already submitted it. I'll figure it out later. for now I have the submission hidden till i get shit worked out with it. enhhh and hey. its nice to be simple for once. [editline]22nd May 2014[/editline] how about jade?
Here, look. TF2 uses a sort of muted industrial color palette. Meaning colors are almost never saturated very strongly, especially not on smaller objects, where it's better to have minimal saturation. At the same time, though, you want to avoid making an object too desaturated. I believe someone mentioned earlier that there's no 100% gray in TF2, and aside from Lime and Pink paint and a view other examples such as lights or screens, pretty much no object in TF2 has 100%, or hell, even 85% saturation. That above was the official color palette on the "Do It Your Damn Self!" page on the blog, but here's an extended palette I use from time to time: [sp]mainly just for the paint colors, though[/sp] It's usually best to avoid going for colors like jade, lime, or anything neon, unless the object is meant to be lit. Even if you are going for a saturated look, it's still a really good idea to try and make the item about the same color as the pre-existing palette. That way it doesn't detract too much from the character or stand out any more than it needs to.
Do you plan on making him yourself or is he up for grabs?
Spark will be doing most of him
some pyro gear very loosely based on the tfc pyro chunked him up quite a bit which is more notable in the arms and stomach:
