Those textures are simply amazing. I've gotta ask, what do the $comm* lines in the VMT do?
Why the fuck do gamebanana mods do this shit, always singling out real content creators and never the mindless hordes for rule violations. I submitted a sound mod that includes lines for every class.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/qLoREqg.png[/t]
Dude expects me to list every single TF2 voice actor in the credits yet a thousand other submissions remain unflagged that lack this. I even added Valve in the Original Authors credits after he asked me the first time and the dude is still on my case.
What the hell is up with their mods?
Which mod was it? Best I can guess is either Natko, Mini or maybe Jonny-Higgins. Quite a few moderators there are cunts.
I've reported comments in the past AFTER replying to the comments in question, and ended up being post-gagged for "creating more work for us mods". I can understand submitting a support ticket and then replying to the comments. But when I submit a comment first and then report the comments in question, I don't see that to be gag-worthy. And that's the story of how I've had 12+ post-gags. Because Mini and Natko can be cunts sometimes. I honestly don't care if they read this either because if Kosai can get away with talking shit to them because he's a former moderator then anyone should be able to get away with it.
Oh, and we have this new hire tossing his weight around (and yes, it's a he if you were wondering), removing comments for improper reasons. He's only been on GB for a year but apparently been an admin on Kongregate and Armor Games so that apparently makes him over qualified. That's like applying for a job at a restaurant with 5 Michelin stars and listing McDonalds and Taco Bell on your resume.
Side Note: Crediting Valve in your submission is not required, despite what that moderator stated. We all know Valve created it. Unfortunately there are some retards on GameBanana who go around flagging submissions for improper credits when people don't credit Valve, so it's become a "second nature" thing to just credit Valve and avoid the retard-wrath. Oddly enough some moderators still haven't figured this out and have become part of the retard-wrath.
I've been considering the possibility of maybe creating an online itemtoast-esque mod hosting website.
http://mods.tf/
Itemtoast-esque means that you can simply upload a workshop zip, then you can select which items you want to distribute and the site will automatically convert them for you
The pages will be much like the system that I created for NeoDement: http://tf2.jennybur.net/mods/Hats/SplashDamage/
Obviously, I'll pretty them up to match the theme.
It'll probably have a Flask back-end, as I found that so awesomely flexible. Steam login is an obvious requirement.
It could probably be expanded to Dota in the future, too, really.
Let me know if there's interest, I'll ensure it's feasible code-wise if there is interest.
Thanks!
Oh god yes. As long as it's properly moderated, I can see this being a huge competitor to GameBanana. And please make "This submission is not permitted to be re-uploaded to other mod hosting websites (i.e. GameBanana, TF2Mods)" a license option for submissions. That way if some idiot does upload something from Mod.tf onto GB, we can easily get it taken down.

Uh, I thiiiink they were used to make community weapons shine more brightly than normal ones back in the day.
Probably a bad habit to recycle old vmts without ever removing the worthless garbage from them.

i'm totally on board with this

Eh I dont want to put the mod on the spot like that, even though I personally disagreed with his actions. I removed his name because posting here eliminates his ability to tell his side of things. And I know he wouldn't make an account here just for that.
besides we got enough of bad banana
I say just go offer to help get tf2mods.net in better shape but I would say that being TF2maps.net and Tf2mods.net are sister sites.
[editline]23rd May 2014[/editline]
There's also the fact it has a bunch of people's mods from here on there on already and it hosts the community updates minisites
Just updated the TIP W Models to fix some rigging issues from outdated files.

There was a reason that thread closed.
Besides, all it did was bring up at old mods (Which were good back then, incredibly shitty now) from 2007-09, and any newbie's first skin that popped up every so often. When you really look at it, there isn't much substance.
I even tried to make a second one once.

He's very limited, the firing isn't very thought out and the taunts aren't blended atm, but this is what I have so far.

Super Monday Night Combat, a free-to-play followup to the original which had the same name, but without the "Super".
I find the style of the characters really close to TF2, but that's probably just me.

Ah I know about MNC and SMNC, I was unaware this was a playable character. Must've been added after I stopped playing.
One minute of silence for both MNC and SMNC, they died pretty fast.
Anyone feel like a texturing this SMG?

They weren't good back then. We were just more accepting of shit back then. Nothing magically changed that made everyone better at mods.
They weren't good back then. We were just more accepting of shit back then. Nothing magically changed that made everyone better at mods.
By "good" I mean in terms of peoples standards back then. Whenever something of the quality that is a standard now came around back then it was the hypest shit.
We haven't become less "tolerant", we now just have a higher standard when it comes to mods. Which is why when a mod that looks like one from 6 years ago no one likes it.
I still think it's perfectly valid to mock shitty mods regardless of how old they are. And I was ON gb when most of them came out.

I think part of the reason they died was because no matter what you could just instantly get killed by an invisible ninja
At least with TF2 the Spy has to uncloak before he's able to dish out insta-kills

I just found it clunky, slow and tedious.
Here's a concept I did just to get back into doing them again

I was thinking of doing a hat to go with it, any suggestions for what kind of hat I should give engie?

But that's essentially possible on any MOBA, though.
A terrible toupee?
Hmmmm, not a bad idea. Are there any ideas for another misc to go with this?
Damn, I'm gone for one day and I lose all that thing with Ikes.
I was just going to suggest him stop using pink comic sans...
