But that's essentially possible on any MOBA, though.
idea: TF2 MOBA
idea: TF2 MOBA
Hell, guy on my friends list ("mani") created TF2TD which is a neat tower defense mod. It would be neat to see an MOBA style TF2. Skeletons from Scream Fortress could be the neutral creeps (100% possible to make them neutral and attack both teams in Sourcemod), and Horsemann/Monoculus/Merasmus/Skeleton King could be like that boss creep in DotA2.
The only real issue I see with this would be trying to code in a top-down view in TF2 along with trying to code in a "click here to move here" and "click this thing to attack it" system.
Oh, and Sentries could be the towers.
Oh and furthermore, MasterOfTheXP's "Custom Weapons 2" plugin could be used to code in things like purchaseable items with varying stats. War3Source code be stripped of functions to make abilities for each class, etc.

Seeing Mani's name brought up, I thought I'd mention we're planning some form of tf2ware-esque minigames mod (although a similar idea it's mostly not inspired by it) as a "oh I've got a little while and I'm bored but I don't feel like playing tf2 seriously" thing.
AFAIK the other TF2TD guys are doing the coding and I'm working on the map-side of things (which should be fun actually).

I need to bug Mani some more so I can get a copy of TF2TD to host a server for it. He knows my setup is good enough to run the mode (I rent an actual dedicated box from OVH.com, Ubuntu 12.04). I contacted him back when you had to contact him to get a copy of the plugin but he kept forgetting about it and now he's told me I have to wait until it goes piblic/public beta to get a copy :<

He's been pretty busy recently, I think there's finals coming up too which doesn't help anything for him. I must admit I can understand why he wants that, because there's still nice progress on it when they're around and it's annoying to get several servers with different hosts updated. I also think he mentioned a South Korean server coming soon.
Anyone feel like a texturing this SMG?

If I were any decent at it, I would totally be up for it.
It's a really neat looking item.
Actually, I wouuuuld like to give it a try, if I could. But I am rather busy with everything lately, so I couldn't. It would take too long.

Wow I actually thought it was already textured. Model looks great.

Some texture work I did for Sims, critiques and opinions are more than welcome as I also had to pick Primrose's brain for some advice.
Please forgive me if Im wrong, but is that Dark Ones wrench?
Please forgive me if Im wrong, but is that Dark Ones wrench?
Sims_Doc is Dark One so yeah, that is his wrench.
Yep, it's his wrench, I just call him sims for short.
Super Monday Night Combat, a free-to-play followup to the original which had the same name, but without the "Super".
I find the style of the characters really close to TF2, but that's probably just me.
WHAT?! I was 100% sure it was from this:

I think the brush work needs to be more subtle. And those lines don't look any good in my opinion.

They can make it play like Smite which is a third-person moba.
Before I get to drawing the Terrible Toupee should I give the vest I drew, lapels?
is there a way to edit an imported smds smoothing in max? i copied the medics coat and now i cant change its smoothing at all.
Before I get to drawing the Terrible Toupee should I give the vest I drew, lapels?
try it and see if it works :)

Wunderboy's importer imports with explicit normals. Just add an edit normals modifer, ctrl+a then reset them, and collapse it. Cannonfodder's importer does what it can to rebuild smoothing groups but has some problems with areas with a lot of different groups. No idea what Wallworm does.

thanks but that makes it with flat shading when its done. is there a way to keep the smoothing after doing this or will i have to re-do it all myself?

Here it is with lapel and the Terrible Toupee. Anyone got suggestions for another misc to go with this before I put it up for grabs?

You either have to use a different importer or redo it.
Zombie, in the HQ W Models lastest release, the grenade launcher does not seem to work with the fixed reload animation
Yes I had the separated C animations

I still suck at rigging! :v:
But I'm sure I can do better before I hand it off to someone else. It's a learning experience. All of this is practice...
Does anyone have advice on how I should go about making a normal map for it? Should I just make a high-poly variant in 3DS max or should I use a sculpting program?
I'll do it.
PM sent :)
