It's one thing to be able to recognize the colors on a static image but when you're actually in action against the class that can cross your entire field of view in a second it's gonna be a lot harder
The answer is easy! Shoot everyone.
this again? if you put your crosshair over him and you see a name, it's a teammate if you put your crosshair over him and nothing happens, it's an enemy
You forgot to mention about Solem Vow and the Spy. Of course that the name will appear in a blue rectangle, but just adding information to your sentence.
As controversial as Demoman getting a Black Dynamite set. So no, I think you're fine.
I'd do it myself, but I don't have any modeling experience yet, and I don't have modeling software. So the concept is free to use. EDIT: Page King..? Crap.. Uhh, LOOK SOMETHING AMAZING OUTSIDE YOUR WINDOW! (runs away)
Reworked the concept a little bit to remove some of all that yellow: Still up for grabs, yo!
Reskin your scouts then, see if it's really that simple
I did, just to prove a point: [t]http://i.imgur.com/lmI0Wip.png[/t] I can tell this completely white scout is BLU while playing due to a number of reasons: (Be prepared for bad screenshots because It's hard to press printscreen while fighting and I can't take video) [t]http://i.imgur.com/nrOkjgM.jpg[/t] - He's shooting me. - I'm taking damage (69 health). - He's in the BLU base and denying that area. - He's facing towards me and reacting to my presence. Not shown in that screenshot, but obviously, if I put my mouse over him to try and shoot him, no nameplate would come up. Here's a RED dude, even though his texture is completely white: [t]http://i.imgur.com/xr4xcms.jpg[/t] - He's shooting the BLU team (opposite of mine, as shown on the HUD) - BLU team is taking damage (notice the heavy has blood spatters and is bonked). - He's in the RED base and denying that area to the BLU team. - He's facing away from me and paying no attention to my presence, continuing on with his business. - The game tells me he is my teammate if I try to put my crosshair over him to shoot. Worst case scenario: You end up shooting a teammate. This mistake only lasts a very short amount of time however, as there would be no hitsound, no damage text, no blood splatters, and no pain vocalizations. You would miss one round out of your clip, which you probably already do on a constant basis as you play through the game spychecking people or missing shots. Spark's item has team coloring on it and is discernible from a distance. The difference is simple, if he's shooting you and/or not acting like a teammate (perhaps, like how a bad Spy would be acting?), then it's a bad guy. Even though some item combinations already play with team recognition, particularly Heavy ones, the apocalypse still hasn't happened and TF2 has been continuing normally. Hopefully that settles it.
The answer is easy! Shoot everyone.
If you can make them bleed, burn, dismember, or knock down, it is an enemy. You were given weapons for a reason.

Hopefully that settles it.
However, the Apparatchik's Apparel is set to be paintable for everything, but it's disabled (the author confirmed that it wasn't paintable, possibly was a VALVe change). The Tyurtlenek is paintable for the whole shirt (differently than the Workshop that was only the neck area). And finally, the Das Fantzipantzen, the paintabillity was the whole shirt, but it was changed when it was imported to the game, only making the bow tie paintable. The reason the Das Fantzipantzen maybe was the confusion that had if was painted with Color Similar to Slate. I don't think the scout cosmetic item (Buff Boy's Muscle Suit) would cause team confusion, the team colors aren't hard to be seen. It would be a huge problem if those stripes were paintable (it would be a mess). I just got an idea, maybe making the Skull shape paintable (just like the Champ Stamp).
Hopefully that settles it.
It really only settles that when you're trying really hard to focus you can do it and I also highly doubt you didn't experience any confusion because I've had non-TC mods that covered most of the shirt and, yes, it was annoying in casual play even after a month, in fact, especially after a month. But I don't want to drudge on a long argument about it, that's just my two cents and I guess it's up to whether or not Valve agrees.
heavies have even less team color than this item so I think it's fine
Heavies move much slower, scouts swarm and kite you and require identification on a twitch Even if it doesn't make the game unplayably broken it makes it annoying
This is probably flirting to hard with the source material to put on the workshop but I NEED to make it. The geo for the hair and shoes is still unfinished. Not sure how hard it will be to blend the flesh texture at the arm and neck seams. Thoughts, suggestions or questions? It lack the pony tail on the mohawk. Absolutely brilliant though.
It lack the pony tail on the mohawk. Absolutely brilliant though.
I'll be adding that when I start working on the details in the mohawk :) Right now I'm trying to decide it I want it high (like it is blocked out) or low cut like the source image.

Whenever he'd bend his arm part of it would be covered, same with Heavy and the Heavy lifter. You've only got so much team color, why put it somewhere where parts of it wouldn't be visible whenever the merc bends his arm, which is most of the time.
I just remembered, an Emporium or two ago someone was working on an awesome Engineer set based on the music video for Take On Me. Whatever happened to that?
so the belt doesnt slide off [editline]31st May 2014[/editline] thats the whole point of a belt loop o.o
but why are the loops part of the shirt? Ive seen plenty of times where a belt is wrapped around the waistline or hips outside of a shirt i understand it would be ugly or weird to make the shirt around the belt, but i figure having no loops at all over weird shirt loops on a shirt that probably never even had belt loops to begin with is a better idea.

Personally I don't have a problem with loops on the tunic. Has an interesting appeal.
Thoughts, suggestions or questions?
Mohawk looks really blocky, I'd also change the color of the armpads to something else, like the default vest's brown.

I just set some really rough geo there to get a feel for the shape I want. As for the shoulder bits, they will be turtle shells when it's done and something similar to his old vest color might work. I'll try it out once it's ready for texture.
Some Festives Sitting For awhile, i Know It is Only Valves's Work -_-
Some Festives Sitting For awhile, i Know It is Only Valves's Work -_-
awesome job on the drawings! for some constructive criticism if this were to be made into a mod, it would be way too many lights and be too obtrusive to the weapon
seeing how valve has evolved the concept of festives, i'm pretty sure you can play more with the shapes than simply wrapping everything with lights. the caber for example is totally asking to replace the head with a gift box.
I like the chocolate milk concept.
