Having some trouble with team coloring while compiling a weapon. HLMV loads the first Red Team skin, has a Skin 2 option, but it's still the Red skin. QC: (I know it needs to be compiled into c_items)
$cdmaterials "models\weapons\c_saber\" $texturegroup "skinfamilies" { { "models/weapons/c_saber/c_saber.vmt" "models/weapons/c_saber/c_saber_blade.vmt" } { "models/weapons/c_saber/c_saber.vmt" "c_saber_blade_blue.vmt" } }
Materials: Blue VMT: Model materials: HLMV Materials loaded: Would definitely appreciate any help, got me stuck for a few days.

HLMV was doing the same to me, but the item worked fine in game.

Also tested in game, both teams were red.
Ditch .vmt as well.
Ditch .vmt as well.
Didn't work either.
Can i get some help here? im trying to unwrap this section by following active quads but I'm getting the error "Activ face must be a quad" All of the faces in the selection are quads. I really dont know how to fix this and a google search yielded no results.
Don't hate me, but are you SURE they are all quads? No stray verts on an edge, or overlapping eachother?
Okay, the first pass at my guide is complete! I would really like feedback on anything and everything, including but not limited to: presentation, grammar, spelling, overall format, sentiment, taste left in mouth, etc. I would also like to humbly and respectfully request that we include it at the top of each Emporium from now on, as I feel it would give ambitious users a lot of value.

(Updated the QC in the quote) The full texture path you had will mess it up along with the .VMT at the end, along with the fact you had it looking for the VMT in "/weapons/c_saber/" which isn't a file path for the textures. "/weapons/c_items/" is where your textures and VMTs should be. Your VMT should also be rewritten for "models\weapons\c_items\c_saber\" EDIT: Just read that you said you know it needs to be compiled to c_items. My question is why aren't you doing that already? If you need further help, toss me a message on steam with all the files and I'll get it working in the morning.
Don't hate me, but are you SURE they are all quads? No stray verts on an edge, or overlapping eachother?
i've checked very toroughly, and it is very apparent that they're all quads. maybe I'm wrong idk

http://www.polycount.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1806853&postcount=15657 [t]http://i.imgur.com/zhfuL31.jpg[/t] the artist clearly has "some" drawing skills at the very least, but the concept doesn't do the most important thing imo: convey what the item is supposed to look like in 3d. so skills isn't everything. and then pay the modeler 15% but that's another problem. of course, that artist will probably never give permission to put it in the guide... one can argue that if they draw like shit they have no business giving ideas, but on the other hand the point of this is to guide them the right way. i guess it depends on how much you want to encourage them.
I duped the model im trying to follow active quads with and it doesnt seem to have any problems i gotta go sleep ill figure it out tomorrow
Im the only one who is getting nice ERROR's all the time from Crowbar? (The qc is fine, I used a model which I compiled some years ago) Is there a nice replacement for Crowbar and GUIStudio? Both aint working for me anymore.... Or should I maybe update sourceSDK Base 2006? [editline]10th June 2014[/editline] *Solved*
A (probably terrible) idea came to me while I was in the shower, so I drew up a concept while waiting for 3Ds Max to redownload. Unoriginal ideas ho!

Here's an example of quality art is not everything. Original Concept: [T]http://i.imgur.com/gqvIxef.png[/T] Steam: It's clearly way below the quality of the concepts in the guide, but it does what it does, show how it looks like.
I fixed Jukebox's issue with team coloring. [t]https://i.imgur.com/5BEBEwT.jpg[/t] Added some transparency to the saber part.
Is that future Engineer model ever going to be finished? It feels like years since I've seen the silhouette picture of him.
I am looking into generation of an Emporium promo with mods.tf and it's looking really good! With custom TF2 fonts and everything.
So, I was just looking at the loadout.tf site, and I noticed a taunt animation in the Spy category I'd never seen before. It's "Taunt buy a life", and it appears to be the Spy pulling something out of his jacket, counting money out of it and throwing said money. Now, if you give him the Disguise Kit in this taunt, he actually throws the two halves of the kit away, and they float to the ground, showing that there is more to this than just the Spy's throwing animation. As such, it gave me an idea for a new Spy disguise kit, the "Pay & Win". It's disguised as a wallet, and inside there actually is a sum of money. It'd use the 'Taunt buy a life' animation, and the money would be team coloured counterfeit bills with the Spy's face on it.
[t]https://i.imgur.com/5BEBEwT.jpg[/t]
Scout chopped off his own feet. Now they're just little nubs.
EDIT: PMing Sexy :v:
Got a response. Apparently it's Noize's turn to add stuff to his expansion post because Sexy's is full or something. So I had to go leave a message for Noize to let him know it's his turn. :suicide: If the people in charge of doing expansions would actually go back more than one page to see if they missed anything for their expansion, this kinda thing wouldn't happen.

I want to host an expansion in the next emporium but I know I won't be online when it this one ends and the next one begins, so my dream dies immediately.
I know this has been asked about a thousand times already but i cannot find the poses download. I want to draw up some concepts. also, the kill icons are coming along nicely, i just want to do a major amount before i bother posting anything. P.S. Ikes... you told me you had models to practice texturing on, have you still got them or are they... well im pretty sure the past few pages have explained my thoughts accurately, i really do not intend to offend but this is dragging.
I decided not to texture my sniper rifle, cause A) Kinda hard for a first weapon B) I'm terrible at brush strokes / edge highlights ^^^(i'm not actually sure if these brush strokes are good or not)^^^ But anyway, time to start a fresh, but if anyone wants to texture the sniper rifle, tell me, as it's up for grabs
Quick update: those concept sketches I mentioned will be running late, but i can describe them here if anyone's interested in my idea. Plus, I updated my Fistsounds extension. There was a glitch in the converting software i used and it cut out one of the sound files, but I patched it up no problem. Re-download it here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/52jzf622jne6dmv/1+AAA+Fisting+II.vpk

I'm tweaking them.
Bonjons is working on the texturing. I'm tweaking them.
Just finished the basics on what you said to do actually, also what percent to people get if they make the concept art incase in future i see one i'd like to make.
