did they remove the "stun 10 ubercharged people" or whatever achievement since you can't stun ubercharged players now?
did they remove the "stun 10 ubercharged people" or whatever achievement since you can't stun ubercharged players now?
Obviously.
good.
The health loss was a better nerf since it could be countered by being good at dodging, the rest of what you said has very little to do with the subject considering how we are not discussing that sandman.
That's irrelevant because one pipe and a tap with anything else you're fucked when you're carrying that weapon. Again, useless, always has been.
Only the shittiest scouts ever would sacrifice 30 HP for a weapon that's hard to use in the first place.
It only is hard to use to you because you cant throw balls at people's faces.
It only is hard to use to you because you cant throw balls at people's faces.
I can do it fine. I'd be more than happy to prove that to you as well if you'd be interested in a match. But regardless, a good scout can kill an enemy twice as fast without having to rely on stunning an enemy with the Sandman with or without luck.

The health nerf was better than the jump nerf because it encouraged better dodging skills as well as still letting you use the double jump which is one of the things that that makes the scout the class he is.

Who uses the Sandman anymore?
You are pretty blunt about most things, aren't you.
Not at all.
You don't die faster if you can dodge like a good scout is supposed to. However, a single up close rocket (scout's obviously require the player to stay at close/medium range) can kill a scout in a single hit, where as if you did not have the Sandman equipped, you might have a slim chance in laying in 1 or 2 more shots before you either die, or kill the enemy and get away with 20 or so HP left.
Bonk: selfish and useless, maybe a bit of Support for distracting the sentries
You would not believe how well a properly placed Bonk scout can disable a sentry for takedown by almost any class. Just the other day I was engineering on dustbowl first cap, and a bonk scout comes out of nowhere in the building behind me, nearly killing me with my own sentry, not to mention distracting it completely away from the single spamming soldier I was having no problem tanking it through. Three seconds later everything I'd built was dead, and so was I. The scout never touched me or my sentry, but without him my set up would never have gone down so easily. It's situational, but useful. Like the Natascha, which I have learned can actually be used well.
Thank the fucking retarded whining community!Valve is only trying to help those noob bastards who cry and don't know how to play, fucking fucked up community, that's all folks
Bonk: selfish and useless, maybe a bit of Support for distracting the sentries
It's actually pretty good if you use it properly. It requires some specific situations that probably won't come up, but when they do it's aces. Earlier today I kept foiling this Demoman who was trying to put a huge sticky trap on the intel with it.
That's not at all what I meant, you can discuss it all you want. I'm just saying that discussing it in the steam forum as well is a good idea if you actually want valve to consider your opinion, and so that the ones there that like the nerf won't outnumber the ones who don't.
Ah okay, I see what you mean.
did they remove the "stun 10 ubercharged people" or whatever achievement since you can't stun ubercharged players now?
Actually, they changed the requirements to "10 Ubercharge-Ready Medics."
Actually, they changed the requirements to "10 Ubercharge-Ready Medics."
2 Ubercharge-Ready Medics, but yes.
Sandmen aren't worthless at all. They make good scrap metal. :smug:
Ever notice that the sandman always was worthless? Seriously, no decent player ever had any reason to use the sandman. Or the Force of Nature, or Bonk, or Backburner... etc. Just one of 'those' weapons.
FAN only seems useless when you're using it, somehow.
FAN only seems useless when you're using it, somehow.
It's made me ragequit as a pyro many times.
What could they add to the current Sandman to make it more lucrative. Well, assuming that nothing gets subtracted from it's current state, here's what i'd like to see added to the Sandman: -Faster ball recharge. -Faster movement rate. If not all the time then when the bat is out. -(Slightly) Bigger radius the ball can actually hit a person, or a (Slight) increase of the balls velocity. -Highlighting of any sandman balls. (to make them easier to find.) Those are jus' a few ideas. Any one of those would be a decent boost to the effectiveness or utility of the Sandman in my opinion. As for FaN vs. Pyro argument that Empty stated above. Keep in mind that just lighting a Scout on fire has a fair chance to kill him if he cannot get healed in some way. =\ 'Sides, you've had an annoying knockback attack longer than ol' scouty scout. =)
Sandmen aren't worthless at all. They make good scrap metal. :smug:
Even when the Sandman is made out of wood.
For me the sandman was a terrible idea from the beginning.
Uuu. I got something fun done with sandman today. Enemy spy was just about to run to sentry nest probably zap everything now and beyond, so i being a dick tosset ball to him making him lose his disqui right the moment he runned there. Yay cant spell
If you get hit with sandman you can still scope and fire while in the flee animation.
i never use any unlocks anyway
i never use any unlocks anyway
Not even the medic ones?
You just have to use the sandvich. Not for helping the team but helping the hunger.
After playing with a few of my gaming community buddies, I realized that in the right hands this bat is actually quite good. My one buddy could hit anyone and render them useless and proceed to kill them. He did eventually get fed up with the health decrease, but it was very frustrating playing against him and getting stunned and running around like a headless chicken.
I remember the good old sandman, I could hit somebody and the stun was so ridiculously long that I could run up to them and use the pistol and very slowly kill them, just because it was funny. Good times.
