My proposal of new mechanics for Crafting, Trading, Achievements and "Random" Drops.

I think the drop system, trading, MannCo and pretty much everything is fine.
Except most of the items that are fueling the trading madness..
Trading should be about switching hats that you don't like for hats that you like, every hat should be kinda like equal in value, only thing that matters is whether you want to wear it or not, to trade it away for something or not.
That's my 2 cents
Edit Also ironman17 they don't read emails that are too long. so maybe an inquiry would be a better way to go, something easier for them to.. digest.
Or if you've got a concept for TF that you see all the way to the end from as many perspectives as possible, you better visit them in person :v:
Ok, so I guess Robin IS still head honcho on TF2, judging by your subtle thingimajong.

Well, I edited the document slightly for the professional recipient (Robin), and sent the email. Hopefully he'll be interested. I implemented some of the thread feedback into the edited document, as well as credit to the posters and a link to the thread, so I threw in a few good words for you guys.
(I started the email an hour ago, so any input between then and now hasn't been implemented)
Put me in the credits of that email. I want a community item too. Because you're most likely going to get one.

I think it's too late for that.
This is great idea OP! If only Valve implemented something like that.

If they wont they will be forced to....get more dosh.
Valve could basically make Team Fortress a very good and profitable game, even more than what TF2 is today. In a manner that would keep at least 90% of the players happy, it would require a long-term concept or a pattern to follow.. won't go into specifics. Also, creativity, which Valve is supposedly known for. Recent TF2 stuff hasn't been creative, not one bit. Just half-assed.
I hope Valve knows this. I know it.
About that achievement overhaul, it's not going to work. Whether or not you accomplish an achievement comes from the server, and considering that a server plugin already exists that can unlock every achievement for you, even IF Valve somehow managed to keep that false achievement information from coming in, they probably couldn't do anything about the fact that a server can just say "this person got (insert number of kills or something that earns an achievement)", just like how they are currently unable to do much about servers with fake player counts. Making it so you can't earn achievements on servers with plugins means that anyone who actually wants to keep the peace on their server can't run the required admin plugins without harming everyone else, and that's assuming that the server doesn't, in some way, send MORE falsified data that says they AREN'T running plugins in the first place. And trying to punish individual users for taking advantage of that kind of stuff just wouldn't work, considering there's nothing stopping a self-absorbed admin from getting a plugin that forces achievements on someone before kicking them.
Perhaps Metal could be earned by completing Worth Challenges?
All I really want is a 5-item limit; you can't have more than 5 of the same item (except metal)
Sick of the fucking hoarders
Also possibly pre-loaded weapon layouts? Sort of like COD. Its REALLY annoying to have to individually switch out a weapon in the loadout, even moreso with vintage/nonvintage shit because they take up double the space

How would that work?

No, what about nerfed
This system sounds brilliant and it would help me with one of my dilemmas. Ever since the medieval update I have been thrown into the boring, ugly, repetitive world of the trade markets and have become hooked like a bear to a bee hive. This system would not only encourage me to play the game properly again, it also means I won't be tempted into scamming some poor new guy out of his favourite headwear on every server.
I think you should be able to craft a scrap into a random weapon.
Non-promo, of course
Why can't Valve remove trading and make it easy to get items so that everyone can wear what they wish? It'd fix so many problems!

Great idea, but people would get serious mad.

So? They were fine before trading the Mannconomy came out and they'll be fine when it's gone. And I want microtransactions removed also, but I doubt Valve would remove it.

Well, imagine if they took all unlockables away. When you take something people are accustomed to, they burst in an uproar. It's just how the cattle cries.

I agreed, pre-mannconomy update was the best TF2.

Not unlockables, just trading. Just to make it easier for everyone to get the hat they want. I personally would love to have some other hats but I can barely get any because everyone demands so much shit for one hat.
-snip-
What's up with the double posting?

The same reaction would still occur.
Also, SPUF outrage.

Who cares, they're only SPUF.

Isn't it Steam Powered User forums? And it wouldn't make difference. They have been complaining, are complaining and will be complaining.

SPUF are everything that's wrong with Steam.

Thanks.

I agree, they're the ones ruining the game with their constant requests for more hats!
Minor flaws, but none the less. Outstanding proposal. I am fully supportive of these many ideas and agree with anyone who believes it should be submitted to Valve.
When you craft two crates together you should randomly get something from either crate. That would be wonderful considering I have so many crates rotting in my backpack right now since I don't have any keys.
