I honestly never had a good impression of the competitive players. The only experience I had were bad ones. The snobbish, rude, etc, players who think X game is the pinnacle of life.
i can try games like quake live or sc1/sc2 but i couldnt really play those games because i like talking to teammates over ventrilo
dont get me started on me trying to do anything comp on WoW..

CompLexity and Dignitas, probably the two best teams in the world, seem to be full of nice enough guys.
Dignitas players are pretty smug, in my experience.

Anyone can be pro in a pub server when you have a medic who heals you and only you.
Not saying Complexity are bad, just saying that many "pro" gamers aren't that amazing.

the only thing annoying with competitive tf2 is getting yourself recruited into the professional circuit.
Reminds me this time i played with a pro heavy.
I was a medic so i decided to stick with him for a while, so far i have never met a better medic partner. He always made my protection the first priority, together we rampaged the other team, he also had amazing reflexes, i have no idea how but he knew if there was someone behind us(we were not communicating by mic).
Note that all of this was before the heavy buff.

Only unique in the sense that every snowflake is unique, but they all look the damn same, unless you look closely or are really into snowflake.
I don't mind competitive players, really, I just don't like when they bring in a clan and stack public servers that are meant to be laid back.
This is what autobalance plugins are for, thankfully.
Competitive TF2 seems a lot better than pubs
6 vs 6 is great, but for me 7 or 8 vs 8 would be better. But not any higher.
all the annoying piece of shit classes are not being used, thank god for no engineers. Plus all unlocks are just annoying.
Competitive TF2 seems like TF2 with the interesting removed.
you take crits, unlocks and other shit out of the game and you're left with something that isn't TF2.
Not all the unlocks are annoying. Engineer ones are, but the Demoman's melee unlock is good, so is the Soldier's. KGB is good for stringing up kills, Sandvich/Dalokoh's bar is also useful. Just some examples.
