Cloak Raider I've got to disagree, sure the unlocks are fun, but I mean the game was as fun when it came out before the unlocks as it is now, even still with the Scout I find I only use the default unlocks anyway they're still the weapons I enjoy using and are the most effective with. Plus I don't think crits make the game fun or neccesarily make it TF2, they're frustrating, sure it's fun when you get one but when you die from one Crit shot espicially as a scout it becomes more luck based then skill-based, it's annoying when you get killed by some noob simply because of a lucky shot that happened to also be a critical.

Guys, there are asshole combs, who just steamroll you to laugh at you, and there are nice ones, that gives you advices. Realy, i met quite a few friendly ones, and they helped me improve my Spy skills
From my experience, it's pretty much impossible to find a competitive gamer who isn't a complete asshole.
i have though. a fella in my clan is a former ESEA competitive spy, dominates everyone with the deadringer even on damned 2fort... BornToPimp is a godlike sniper, quickshots freaking everywhere, and a pretty nice guy to talk to, and obviously carnage isn't a bad guy at all
I play 6v6 comp TF2 as a Medic and I'm going to be honest, I prefer it to most public servers. Firstly due to the smaller amounts of players and secondly because of the teamwork that is used and the communication skills that go on. Makes the game more fun and really does put the Team in Team Fortress. As for comp players being assholes, I can see where you're coming from. I know a guy who used to have fun on a pub I played on, we'd fart about and have picnics and generally have a laugh. We were both trying to get into clans as Medics. He gets in one before me and then just becomes a dick to everyone else and rejects and ignores all the people who used to play with on the pub server. Though not everyone is like it, just a annoyingly large amount.
From my experience, it's pretty much impossible to find a competitive gamer who isn't a complete asshole.
Totally agree, they always saying how good they are and how much you suck
Totally agree, they always saying how good they are and how much you suck
This reminds me when I was on Noobs galore server. Some dudes were talking about how they are uber leet and played tf2 since the betas.
Totally agree, they always saying how good they are and how much you suck
Well, you seem to be in the minority here. Most people (including me) have had perfectly fine experiences with comp players. Also, sweet demoman montage: [editline]11:45AM[/editline] In other news, watching some competitive play and especially playing in a few pickup games will make you much better at a class pretty quickly.
Competitive TF2 seems like TF2 with the interesting removed. you take crits, unlocks and other shit out of the game and you're left with something that isn't TF2.
Wait, competative TF2 takes unlocks out? Screw that, I'm nothing without my Direct Hit. :tinfoil:
Wait, competative TF2 takes unlocks out? Screw that, I'm nothing without my Direct Hit. :tinfoil:
As far as I know, the community weapons aren't allowed because the leagues haven't had time to look at their effects on balance, and sandman has always been banned. Direct hit, eyelander, targe, backburner, etc. are allowed. [editline]11:52AM[/editline] Also I'd love to see a video of CompLexity pubstomping sometime.
I was playing on a server running 2FORT (i was practicing scout capping) and 2 players joined from the same clan and proceeded to keep saying "Need a dispenser here" and run around our intel killing anybody who went down.
From my experience, it's pretty much impossible to find a competitive gamer who isn't a complete asshole.
It is unfortunate that you haven't found any nice comp players however you will only remember the assholes and not the nice people. Below also isn't directed at you Bathacker and is just a general statement I think the comp players = dicks stereotype is a bit unfair, just because some people are dicks doesn't mean we all are, and it is a stereotype no matter which way you look at it, also people that instantly saying "LULCOMPLAYAZRDIX" I wonder if you went to the supermarket and saw a group of people being abusive and rude would you instantly assume that everyone who goes to a supermarket is the same? [editline]11:52AM[/editline] Also I'd love to see a video of CompLexity pubstomping sometime.
Direct Hit isn't allowed as far as I can remember, also the reason community weapons aren't allowed is that they aren't easily obtainable, for example crit-a-cola you have to wait for a random drop or craft it, so in theory someone could never obtain it as it may never drop and the items they need to make it may never drop
CEVO-P season 5 had everything except the community weapons and the Sandman allowed. I don't know about TWL or ESEA.
I've seen some really good players that aren't competitive. It's strange, because the level of skill these people can shell out, they would be out of their minds not to play in tournaments.
Most competitive people who are assholes aren't at the highest level. In ESEA there's open and invite. The invite people are more skilled and since they go to lans, almost everyone knows everyone else so they're generally nicer.
Carnage told me he plays singleplayer against bots on hard with 3X timescale to work on his reaction holy fuck
You should tell him about extreme mode in fact I should try doing that, can't hurt to raise your reaction time

I SUCKED. [editline]01:10PM[/editline] Plus my game kept stuttering. Like, it pretends to crash (looping sound, frozen screen) but then after 30 seconds it goes back to normal.
you can use most unlocks in comp, varies from league to league but the only 2 I recall being banned for sure were crit-a-cola and the sandman
Aw man I always used crit-a-cola.
Why is it that they ban community unlocks just because not everyone can get them? It's not like they're designed to make you into a god-machine, they all have their drawbacks. Hell, I bet the first Scout to use Crit-a-Cola in a comp match fires off one shot just to get insta-gibbed by whoever he was firing at.

I'll never be able to do competitive because I'm career Spy :frown:
In comp to make it more fair people try to remove random aspects, random crits, random spread, random drops :)
It's not completely random though. It's based on player performance.
I think I'd actually rather be just ok at the game than be so good that I have no competition outside of tournaments and scrims. It might be fun to completely decimate the enemy team, but after a while it would get kind of sad.
The greater pleasure comes from defeating your enemy after you have been defeated. Winning every match will eventually get boring.
What is that first song in that demo frag video? Nevermind i found it. Its called robot rock.
So I made a TF2 lobby to play with friends versus some random people, some people from clan joined and they were all like: "NO LIMITS? CRITS ON? WHAT THE FUCK PUB FAGS MORONS ETC." So we played a match on badlands, first off someone was going apeshit because I had Skullcutter equipped, then somebody was saying how Scottish Resistance is OP. Oh, and then they Scout rushed because "lol limits were off". After we managed to get more score then them (3:2) they once again went apeshit about weapons and nerfs. They won 5:4 later going 3 meds + 3 heavies. I just don't get them.
Wonder how a fp pug group would go :v:.
pugs and lobbies are really different from real competitive play. Teamwork ? If you want it, play with a team. Comp players who play pugs are most likely assholes.
In comp to make it more fair people try to remove random aspects, random crits, random spread, random drops :)
It's not like it's random though, it's not like "Oh that Scout has a pistol OH SHIT NOW HE HAS A CRIT-A-COLA OH FUCK OH FUCK!" You learn what he's using and work around it.
