the crits makes it so they don't have to have spot on aim to 2-shot a medic like they would otherwise which makes it a lot easier
Geez, maybe they SHOULD bring back "The Hunted". Maybe then you guys can play your kind of game where you run around escorting some defenseless putz.
and using the fan makes 1shotting possible.
Not like 1-shotting at point blank range is needed if you can GET within point-blank range of a Medic. Like I said earlier, the rate of fire of the FaN makes is easy to bump off a Medic in less than a second if you can get close enough, and odds are you take some lumps trying. The minicrit damage you take penalizes you harder for that. So you killed a Medic in one shot with the FaN. What now, you gonna save that one remaining shot for someone else? It all boils down to situational awareness like I said. Either pay closer attention, or lose your Civilian.
the skullcutter's movement slowdown is just too much for most people. most just run bottle
I personally think a sticky-jumping Demoman/Skullcutter combo could be potentially very nasty.
the skullcutter's movement slowdown is just too much for most people. most just run bottle
except solid, who is now apparently QUITTING! :saddowns: [editline]07:59AM[/editline]
Look, it's obvious from your posts that you are strongly biased against pub players, and zero's posts aren't going to change that.
I am a pubber.
calling Sirdangolot 'against pubs'
Ahahahahaha
I've been trying out TF2 Lobby for the past couple of days. I am fucking TIRED of Granary.
Play badlands :3: Gravelpit, Viaduct, Gullywash, Obscure, Turbine, Fastlane and Coldfront are also all acceptable maps for competitive play, though they might not fill up as fast.
Carnage told me he plays singleplayer against bots on hard with 3X timescale to work on his reaction holy fuck
I just played tr_airshot at host_timescale 2 and that shit was haaaard
Jesus. I suck hard at Lobby. Scout with the weird spread is... odd.
Thats how the spread should be, your damage shouldn't be randomized otherwise random spread will give luck an upper hand on skill.
I agree it's weird when you shoot out a perfect square of bullets.
Competitive players always seemed like dicks to me. If they're really nice guys, they should give it a bit of a rest when they fuck the server up. Maybe they should play against themselves too, join opposite teams to even it out.
I agree it's weird when you shoot out a perfect square of bullets.
No its not weird at all, it encourages closer more damage tactics. And they go outwards so when you try to hit a heavy from mid range with that perfect square it still does about the same damage as the normal bullet spread, its just that I can't afford my bullet spread fucking up when I'm 1 step away or halfly aiming at somebody and more bullets are gonna come to the right than to the left. Its just not right.

This makes me want to go play TF2 thinking I'll be good for once, but I know I'll get off one kill and then get bored.
Try a lobby.
Can someone give a good community besides the big eGo's, the Fug ups, and DiG?
www.tf2lobby.com is pretty good although there are some douches who frequent it
Valve makes the game not competitive players. When they say something is unbalanced it's no more or less void then when a typicall SPUF member says it. And them playing Tf2 in competition, I don't mind. I care though when they stack teams on pubs just to show off.
What's tf2lobby do anyways?
What's tf2lobby do anyways?
it's basically a matchmaking system
Does the game start from the website?
Sort of. It opens up TF2 and automatically connects you to the game server. Ooh, page king. I feel obligated to post something interesting. Sweet competitive sniper play [editline]01:00PM[/editline] Youtube appears to be borked.
Fuck, competitive gaming is killing the industry, the community and the enjoyment I get from games, instead of playing a game for fun, you are now playing a game to win, and to win only, fuck having the cool shit that made the game unique WE NEED A STERILE ENVIRONMENT AS THAT IS THE ONLY WAY IT WILL BE FAIR! When you reach the point where you are actually paying stupid amounts of money to go somewhere to play a game, you know you've basically hit rock bottom in life. Hell, I don't do much with my spare time, but I bet I still haven't hit as low as most competitive gamers.
Killing the industry? Are you serious? Competitive leagues don't kill games, they make them last longer. Just look at quake and other popular competitive games. They wouldn't be played right now if it wasn't for competitive play. It has no affect on the sales
Almost every one I have met has been a asshole, exclaiming how they are good and we suck just because we actually stop playing the game and go outside/ do something constructive or useful to society. The entire competitive industry is slowly starting to make games less fun, developers focus on making a game that can be used in tournaments, and neglecting the public enjoyment, hence why multi player has become such a big thing to have. Competitive gaming also introduced the really shitty genre of frag movies, who the fuck watches these and can genuinely tell me it was a entertaining experience? It's just some guy stroking their own dick over how they spend all day playing a fucking game, then raping the thing to death with shit songs or effects.
Have to agree that the majority are assholes. Atleast in TF2 (not sure about the other games), The invite-level players are nice because they all know eachother since they go to LANs. Again I only speak in TF2, weapons that work in competitive work in public servers but not the other way around. Competitive leagues then ban the weapons because they either ruin the fast paced gameplay, aren't fun to fight against, or simply because the weapon came out right before a league started so they aren't sure how it affects gameplay. The weapons that aren't banned aren't used because they're too situational in a comp environment. Agreed about the frag movies to an extent. A frag movie that features a whole team, or just simply a highlights video about a league are tolerable to me personally.
So far competitive gaming has killed so many games to me, over almost every platform, it is beyond a joke; TF2 - PC, as unserious game that now has to be supahsrs in the face of "pros" because they can't have fun otherwise
Where did you get that TF2 has been killed? When a game looks like it has been taken over by comp, it's because all the non-comp people left the game and moved on, so the only people left are the comp people. "can't have fun otherwise". That's a joke, right? People play comp because it's fun. TF2 comp feels like a different game because of the different pacing and number of people. Where is TF2 turning into "supahsrs" in public servers? Valve is doing a good job keeping them both alive.
Like I said, it isn't just in game that kills it, it's the fact people think that watching someone show off how "1337" they are is apparently a fun thing. How the "leagues" are organized and how much money is fed into them every year, seriously, the money could have probably gone into something more useful than that.
Watching competitive matches isn't a showoff about how "1337" someone is. They're actually fun to watch (atleast in TF2) when you know what is going on. Not even going to comment on "it should be used on something more useful", because the same could be said to just about everything. You have a wrong view about competitive players. They aren't all out there only to boost their ego, they play because it's fun. One reason they're rude is because people like you generalize everyone even though the generalization itself is false. Not commenting on the other games because I haven't played them competitively/at all.
amazingness
Thank you :swoon: Are you a competitive player yourself, or just a fan like me? [editline]01:08PM[/editline] Another thing most of the Comp players you'll run into aren't from AI, CoL, EG, VG, PC, eMG, mmm, Blight, Nexzil (or however that's spelled), Dignitas, TCM, Pandemic, idk? or any of the other top teams because altogether there are about 70 or so players at that level of play.
http://www.fileplay.net/file/8386/i39-teamfortress-2-grand-final you can see me in the pikachu hat :D but honestly TF2 is one of the most enjoyable games to watch at i39 we managed to get an encore and got another half of a map played for fun, would of been a full map but the HoN final was afterwards
invite players are much easier to talk to than any other level of competitive players because we have to face each other at lan so we actually are nice :D
Thanks, Sir. Tr_Airshot has helped me refine my demo-airshotting a bit. I still suck dicks as Solly though
Wait a minute, are you wo0t from MoB? [editline]01:39PM[/editline]
Thanks, Sir. Tr_Airshot has helped me refine my demo-airshotting a bit. I still suck dicks as Solly though
Gradually work your way up to 2x speed, that way when you play at normal speed they'll literally look like slow motion.
mob was a long time ago, but yeah i go by davis now, played for nexus last season
you switched to Davis before MoB went out of existence anyhow I remember you flying across mid at follower when you played Pandemic a while back
Sweet competitive sniper play
Ladies and gentlemen behold, the average comp player frag video. I can tell because it has a shitty intro, shitty effects, and shitty techno music.
No, kritzkrieg is if anything underpowered because it leaves the medic vulnerable during the charge and if the enemy medic pops uber you're fucked.
:froggonk: The reason teams use the kritzkrieg is because it charges much faster than the uber - as long as you use the charge as soon as you get, you have HUGE advantage over the team. 1 crit sticky on the enemy medic and the team is pretty much screwed. It's a completely balanced tradeoff - you don't get invulnerability, but you get a very decent chance of wiping the enemy team especially on midfights. The kritzkrieg isn't a weapon to be overused - once you've wiped the other team once, chances are they'll smarten up and start holding further back. Teams will usually stick with the uber for the first couple of rounds, then swap to kritz when a new round starts, then de-equip it when they have the advantage. If you use the kritz incorrectly, it's not because it's underpowered, it's just because your team isn't using it correctly. After that post, I seriously can't expect to take any of your posts about competitive gaming seriously.
hey guys who wants to join my competitive mlg pro gamer frienly server it has a 10mil tick
